  • Charles Nieman: And I sat there in my room, and I got down
  • 00:01:08.150 --> 00:01:10.050
  • on my knees, and I threw my hands up to heaven, and I said,
  • 00:01:10.060 --> 00:01:13.040
  • "Right here, right now, if David can do it,
  • 00:01:13.050 --> 00:01:18.010
  • Charles can do it.
  • 00:01:18.020 --> 00:01:19.210
  • I choose to be recovered."
  • 00:01:19.220 --> 00:01:24.190
  • Charles: Amen.
  • 00:01:28.250 --> 00:01:31.110
  • All right, would you pray with me please?
  • 00:01:31.120 --> 00:01:33.060
  • Father, we honor you and thank you this morning.
  • 00:01:33.070 --> 00:01:34.290
  • I thank you for this incredible platform that you've given me to
  • 00:01:35.000 --> 00:01:38.200
  • come and share what you have been doing in my life.
  • 00:01:38.210 --> 00:01:42.080
  • And I pray this morning that the truths that I share will help
  • 00:01:42.090 --> 00:01:46.160
  • someone and will reach into their lives and do for them what
  • 00:01:46.170 --> 00:01:52.200
  • they have done and are doing for me.
  • 00:01:52.210 --> 00:01:56.000
  • In Jesus' name, amen.
  • 00:01:56.010 --> 00:01:59.270
  • I wanna talk to you this morning about what are you going to do
  • 00:01:59.280 --> 00:02:05.060
  • when life doesn't play along.
  • 00:02:05.070 --> 00:02:11.010
  • What are you going to do when life doesn't play along?
  • 00:02:11.020 --> 00:02:17.060
  • You know, I believe in the abundant life that Jesus came to
  • 00:02:17.070 --> 00:02:19.220
  • give us, John 10:10.
  • 00:02:19.230 --> 00:02:22.060
  • I believe it so much that we named our church
  • 00:02:22.070 --> 00:02:24.100
  • Abundant Living Faith Center.
  • 00:02:24.110 --> 00:02:28.050
  • It is a part of our core beliefs as a congregation that Jesus
  • 00:02:28.060 --> 00:02:31.060
  • came to give us life and give it to us more abundantly.
  • 00:02:31.070 --> 00:02:35.040
  • And yet, at the same time, the same Jesus that told us that
  • 00:02:35.050 --> 00:02:39.120
  • also told us in John the 16th chapter that, "In this world,"
  • 00:02:39.130 --> 00:02:43.220
  • verse 33, "you will have temptations,
  • 00:02:43.230 --> 00:02:46.020
  • tests, and trials."
  • 00:02:46.030 --> 00:02:48.140
  • And he said, "But be of good cheer," the King James text, but
  • 00:02:48.150 --> 00:02:51.180
  • the literal Greek text says, "Have courage."
  • 00:02:51.190 --> 00:02:56.110
  • Mark the 4th chapter, Jesus revealed to us that when God
  • 00:02:56.120 --> 00:02:59.110
  • begins to bring his Word into your life, that temptations,
  • 00:02:59.120 --> 00:03:05.080
  • tests, trials, persecution, affliction, the pressure due to
  • 00:03:05.090 --> 00:03:10.230
  • circumstances will arise against you to try to separate you from
  • 00:03:10.240 --> 00:03:16.030
  • the very Word and the very relationship with God that God
  • 00:03:16.040 --> 00:03:19.190
  • wants you to have.
  • 00:03:19.200 --> 00:03:21.190
  • And so, we know that there is this great abundant life that
  • 00:03:21.200 --> 00:03:25.100
  • Jesus wants us to have, and yet we also know that there will be
  • 00:03:25.110 --> 00:03:29.100
  • times when life doesn't play along.
  • 00:03:29.110 --> 00:03:33.030
  • Now, I don't believe that life is full of crummy.
  • 00:03:33.040 --> 00:03:37.280
  • One of my favorite psalms, and I'm not the only person that's
  • 00:03:37.290 --> 00:03:40.250
  • ever felt this way, is Psalm 23.
  • 00:03:40.260 --> 00:03:43.210
  • Six incredible verses in Psalm 23, and the way I always
  • 00:03:43.220 --> 00:03:47.020
  • look at it to help me kinda keep my perspective in life
  • 00:03:47.030 --> 00:03:49.230
  • is that one half of one verse talks about crummy.
  • 00:03:49.240 --> 00:03:55.070
  • The other five and a half verses are over-the-top magnificent.
  • 00:03:55.080 --> 00:03:58.140
  • "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.
  • 00:03:58.150 --> 00:04:02.030
  • He leads me, he guides me, he restores me.
  • 00:04:02.040 --> 00:04:05.280
  • And yea, though I should walk through the valley of the shadow
  • 00:04:05.290 --> 00:04:08.280
  • of death, you will be with me.
  • 00:04:08.290 --> 00:04:10.170
  • Your rod and your staff will comfort me."
  • 00:04:10.180 --> 00:04:12.140
  • So, I believe that in life that there's lots of good.
  • 00:04:12.150 --> 00:04:15.290
  • Can I hear a good amen on that today?
  • 00:04:16.000 --> 00:04:17.170
  • Lots of good.
  • 00:04:17.180 --> 00:04:19.000
  • And yet, every once in a while, life doesn't play along.
  • 00:04:19.010 --> 00:04:22.180
  • In my remaining few moments this morning, I'm going to talk to
  • 00:04:22.190 --> 00:04:24.220
  • you, if you'll allow me, from my heart to your heart.
  • 00:04:24.230 --> 00:04:27.030
  • And I'm gonna share with you what I have done as I've been
  • 00:04:27.040 --> 00:04:30.270
  • through, me and my family, and my church, and all my friends
  • 00:04:30.280 --> 00:04:33.290
  • have been through a part of our lives where life
  • 00:04:34.000 --> 00:04:36.100
  • did not play along.
  • 00:04:36.110 --> 00:04:37.270
  • May the 4th of last year, my wife, Rochelle, my amazing wife,
  • 00:04:37.280 --> 00:04:42.090
  • Rochelle, who I was married to for 42 amazing years and was
  • 00:04:42.100 --> 00:04:46.030
  • with her every day of my life for 45 years, she was diagnosed
  • 00:04:46.040 --> 00:04:50.270
  • with stage 4 ovarian cancer.
  • 00:04:50.280 --> 00:04:54.070
  • That began a very long and difficult journey for her, for
  • 00:04:54.080 --> 00:04:59.010
  • me, for my family, and for our church, culminating that on
  • 00:04:59.020 --> 00:05:03.190
  • December the 30th of last year, on Sunday morning, December the
  • 00:05:03.200 --> 00:05:06.240
  • 30th, at 8:45 in the morning, Rochelle passed away.
  • 00:05:06.250 --> 00:05:12.160
  • I was at church that morning.
  • 00:05:12.170 --> 00:05:14.180
  • I was at church because the night before, she had told me,
  • 00:05:14.190 --> 00:05:18.110
  • "You're going to church tomorrow.
  • 00:05:18.120 --> 00:05:21.140
  • You've missed too many services.
  • 00:05:21.150 --> 00:05:22.260
  • The congregation needs to see you.
  • 00:05:22.270 --> 00:05:25.050
  • You're going to church."
  • 00:05:25.060 --> 00:05:26.260
  • I had done the Saturday night service, and so I left that
  • 00:05:26.270 --> 00:05:29.230
  • morning to go to do our first of three services that morning.
  • 00:05:29.240 --> 00:05:34.260
  • And I knew she was very ill, I knew she was probably--we were
  • 00:05:34.270 --> 00:05:38.110
  • going to lose her within the next couple of days, but I had
  • 00:05:38.120 --> 00:05:41.090
  • no idea she would pass away that morning.
  • 00:05:41.100 --> 00:05:44.000
  • When I finished the first service, my security team came
  • 00:05:44.010 --> 00:05:46.100
  • and got me, and I knew what they came to get me for.
  • 00:05:46.110 --> 00:05:49.270
  • I called my son and he told me that Rochelle had passed away.
  • 00:05:49.280 --> 00:05:57.190
  • I had a few moments, and I had to get my team together, and
  • 00:06:00.260 --> 00:06:06.060
  • tell them what had happened, and set up for the next two services
  • 00:06:06.070 --> 00:06:10.050
  • to go forward, 'cause needless to say, there were still
  • 00:06:10.060 --> 00:06:12.180
  • thousands of people coming to church and I had to leave.
  • 00:06:12.190 --> 00:06:16.040
  • And so, we set up what we were going to do.
  • 00:06:16.050 --> 00:06:18.010
  • And I got in my car and I began to drive home, and I knew I had
  • 00:06:18.020 --> 00:06:23.120
  • about 20 to 25 minutes before I got to my house where my family
  • 00:06:23.130 --> 00:06:26.280
  • would be, and I would have to step in,
  • 00:06:26.290 --> 00:06:30.140
  • and things would begin to go forward.
  • 00:06:30.150 --> 00:06:33.100
  • And when I got in my car, I couldn't call any of my friends
  • 00:06:33.110 --> 00:06:39.060
  • because all of my friends are pastors, and on Sunday morning
  • 00:06:39.070 --> 00:06:43.110
  • they're all in church.
  • 00:06:43.120 --> 00:06:45.110
  • And the ones in the other parts of the world that weren't in
  • 00:06:45.120 --> 00:06:47.260
  • church, well, they were all asleep.
  • 00:06:47.270 --> 00:06:50.180
  • And so, I had a few moments there in my car, and I'm just
  • 00:06:50.190 --> 00:06:53.250
  • being very honest with you, I'm not saying anything that's
  • 00:06:53.260 --> 00:06:56.090
  • not true, but I turned on some Hillsong music and
  • 00:06:56.100 --> 00:06:59.250
  • I sat there in my car.
  • 00:06:59.260 --> 00:07:01.250
  • And I knew that I had a few moments, and I prayed this
  • 00:07:01.260 --> 00:07:04.230
  • prayer, and I hope I don't offend you when I say to you
  • 00:07:04.240 --> 00:07:08.040
  • how I've worded it.
  • 00:07:08.050 --> 00:07:09.190
  • This is how we talk in the humble state of Texas.
  • 00:07:09.200 --> 00:07:12.160
  • And I was praying, and I said, "Lord," and I'll quote it to you
  • 00:07:12.170 --> 00:07:15.200
  • exactly what I said, I wrote it down.
  • 00:07:15.210 --> 00:07:17.170
  • I said, "Father, I can't screw this up.
  • 00:07:17.180 --> 00:07:21.150
  • Help me."
  • 00:07:21.160 --> 00:07:24.150
  • announcer: We'll be right back with
  • 00:07:24.160 --> 00:07:25.290
  • "The Best of Hillsong Conference."
  • 00:07:26.000 --> 00:07:28.000
  • Charles: Because the more I can be in the house of God,
  • 00:07:28.010 --> 00:07:31.240
  • my strength is renewed, the more I can mount up,
  • 00:07:31.250 --> 00:07:35.230
  • and I will run and not faint.
  • 00:07:35.240 --> 00:07:38.200
  • Can somebody give God a great handclap of thanksgiving?
  • 00:07:38.210 --> 00:07:42.170
  • 00:07:42.180 --> 00:07:44.180
  • Charles: I was praying, and I said, "Lord," and I'll quote it
  • 00:07:51.260 --> 00:07:54.210
  • to you exactly what I said, I wrote it down.
  • 00:07:54.220 --> 00:07:56.180
  • I said, "Father, I can't screw this up.
  • 00:07:56.190 --> 00:08:00.260
  • Help me."
  • 00:08:00.270 --> 00:08:03.130
  • By this, I meant my life, my children, my church, my friends.
  • 00:08:03.140 --> 00:08:12.130
  • I can't screw this up, help me.
  • 00:08:12.140 --> 00:08:17.230
  • And from that, God revealed to me four amazing things that I
  • 00:08:17.240 --> 00:08:20.260
  • wanna share with you this morning.
  • 00:08:20.270 --> 00:08:22.120
  • Again, I don't believe this is the only way you can handle this
  • 00:08:22.130 --> 00:08:25.000
  • when life doesn't play along, but these things have worked for
  • 00:08:25.010 --> 00:08:27.160
  • me, and continue to work for me, and my prayer is that they will
  • 00:08:27.170 --> 00:08:30.270
  • work for you.
  • 00:08:30.280 --> 00:08:32.140
  • God is not a respecter of persons.
  • 00:08:32.150 --> 00:08:35.180
  • The Word is not open to private interpretation.
  • 00:08:35.190 --> 00:08:37.280
  • It's available to each and every one of us, amen?
  • 00:08:37.290 --> 00:08:41.270
  • And so, the first thing I knew, and you can write it down,
  • 00:08:41.280 --> 00:08:45.030
  • point number one, the first thing I knew, I knew this.
  • 00:08:45.040 --> 00:08:47.160
  • The Lord didn't even need to remind me or speak to me.
  • 00:08:47.170 --> 00:08:50.150
  • I knew this in my heart. I have practiced this.
  • 00:08:50.160 --> 00:08:53.090
  • I believe in this.
  • 00:08:53.100 --> 00:08:54.210
  • I have done this on purpose in my life for years.
  • 00:08:54.220 --> 00:08:58.150
  • I went immediately in my mind to Isaiah 40, verse 31.
  • 00:08:58.160 --> 00:09:03.070
  • And if you've got your Bible there, you can look it up.
  • 00:09:03.080 --> 00:09:05.130
  • You can quote it. Most people know it.
  • 00:09:05.140 --> 00:09:07.040
  • I'll quote it to you.
  • 00:09:07.050 --> 00:09:08.160
  • Isaiah 40, verse 31 says, "They that gather together
  • 00:09:08.170 --> 00:09:11.030
  • before the Lord shall renew their strength."
  • 00:09:11.040 --> 00:09:13.200
  • I know the King James text says what?
  • 00:09:13.210 --> 00:09:16.230
  • "They that wait."
  • 00:09:16.240 --> 00:09:18.160
  • That's a terrible translation.
  • 00:09:18.170 --> 00:09:21.240
  • The literal Hebrew text says, "They that gather together
  • 00:09:21.250 --> 00:09:25.220
  • before the Lord."
  • 00:09:25.230 --> 00:09:27.090
  • He wasn't talking about, "Well, what are you doing?"
  • 00:09:27.100 --> 00:09:29.160
  • "I'm waiting."
  • 00:09:29.170 --> 00:09:32.060
  • "What are you waiting?"
  • 00:09:32.070 --> 00:09:33.190
  • "I'm waiting on the Lord. I'm just waiting."
  • 00:09:33.200 --> 00:09:37.060
  • No, that's not what he's talking about there.
  • 00:09:37.070 --> 00:09:40.040
  • He's talking about gathering together.
  • 00:09:40.050 --> 00:09:42.110
  • He's talking about something that God will do for you
  • 00:09:42.120 --> 00:09:45.170
  • in your life when you go to the house of God.
  • 00:09:45.180 --> 00:09:50.140
  • That when you go to the house of God and you gather together.
  • 00:09:50.150 --> 00:09:54.140
  • When we gather together.
  • 00:09:54.150 --> 00:09:56.140
  • It's not talking about two guys at a coffee shop,
  • 00:09:56.150 --> 00:09:59.010
  • he's talking about the church.
  • 00:09:59.020 --> 00:10:01.080
  • He's talking about this.
  • 00:10:01.090 --> 00:10:02.270
  • He's talking about what happens when you go home, and you meet
  • 00:10:02.280 --> 00:10:05.240
  • in your church house, and you gather together
  • 00:10:05.250 --> 00:10:08.150
  • with the people of God.
  • 00:10:08.160 --> 00:10:09.250
  • And there in that gathering, when you--when we gather
  • 00:10:09.260 --> 00:10:14.010
  • together, God said there in that.
  • 00:10:14.020 --> 00:10:18.130
  • Jesus said in Matthew the 18th chapter, "When two or three
  • 00:10:18.140 --> 00:10:21.140
  • gather together, I will be there in the midst of them."
  • 00:10:21.150 --> 00:10:26.190
  • He's talking about the Greek definition
  • 00:10:26.200 --> 00:10:28.250
  • of the word "church."
  • 00:10:28.260 --> 00:10:30.060
  • When he just said, "I will build my church," the Greek definition
  • 00:10:30.070 --> 00:10:32.030
  • is "The gathering."
  • 00:10:32.040 --> 00:10:34.170
  • So, when we gather together, when we go to the house of God.
  • 00:10:34.180 --> 00:10:38.140
  • You should go to church every week and believe that because
  • 00:10:38.150 --> 00:10:42.150
  • you were there, that your strength will be renewed.
  • 00:10:42.160 --> 00:10:46.100
  • And because your strength is renewed, you will mount up
  • 00:10:46.110 --> 00:10:49.130
  • with wings as of eagles.
  • 00:10:49.140 --> 00:10:51.070
  • You will run and not be weary.
  • 00:10:51.080 --> 00:10:53.040
  • You will walk and not faint.
  • 00:10:53.050 --> 00:10:56.100
  • And I knew that morning in my car that as soon as I could,
  • 00:10:56.110 --> 00:11:00.060
  • I had to get back in the house of God.
  • 00:11:00.070 --> 00:11:04.080
  • Well, thank God the next day was New Years Eve,
  • 00:11:04.090 --> 00:11:06.120
  • and every New Years Eve, we have a huge New Years Eve service,
  • 00:11:06.130 --> 00:11:08.280
  • as many churches do.
  • 00:11:08.290 --> 00:11:10.220
  • And I went, and I preached at that service, and I did our
  • 00:11:10.230 --> 00:11:13.180
  • Wednesday night service, and I hosted the Friday night memorial
  • 00:11:13.190 --> 00:11:17.110
  • service that we had for my wife, and on Saturday I did our
  • 00:11:17.120 --> 00:11:21.010
  • Saturday night service, I did our three Sunday morning
  • 00:11:21.020 --> 00:11:23.120
  • services, and that was the first week in January.
  • 00:11:23.130 --> 00:11:26.080
  • I have not missed one service since then.
  • 00:11:26.090 --> 00:11:29.010
  • You cannot keep me out of the house of God.
  • 00:11:29.020 --> 00:11:31.220
  • I've taken extra speaking engagements, because the more
  • 00:11:31.230 --> 00:11:35.010
  • I can be in the house of God, my strength is renewed,
  • 00:11:35.020 --> 00:11:39.250
  • the more I can mount up, and I will run and not faint.
  • 00:11:39.260 --> 00:11:44.260
  • Can somebody give God a great handclap of thanksgiving
  • 00:11:44.270 --> 00:11:49.140
  • for that incredible promise that God has given us?
  • 00:11:49.150 --> 00:11:57.090
  • So, listen, when life doesn't play along,
  • 00:11:59.050 --> 00:12:03.020
  • don't stay away from church.
  • 00:12:03.030 --> 00:12:08.060
  • Don't say, "Well, I'm working it out on my own."
  • 00:12:08.070 --> 00:12:10.040
  • Why?
  • 00:12:10.050 --> 00:12:12.190
  • Why do you want--and I know what some of you are thinking.
  • 00:12:12.200 --> 00:12:16.070
  • "Well, Pastor, it doesn't make sense.
  • 00:12:16.080 --> 00:12:17.230
  • You know, I'm hurting, and you know, so, you know, it doesn't
  • 00:12:17.240 --> 00:12:20.120
  • make sense to me, you know?"
  • 00:12:20.130 --> 00:12:22.030
  • Listen, it doesn't make sense to me either.
  • 00:12:22.040 --> 00:12:24.030
  • Can I tell you something?
  • 00:12:24.040 --> 00:12:25.220
  • God doesn't have to explain everything to you.
  • 00:12:25.230 --> 00:12:29.010
  • He just says, "Go and this is what'll happen."
  • 00:12:29.020 --> 00:12:32.240
  • So, all you gotta do is get yourself up, and get your little
  • 00:12:32.250 --> 00:12:35.220
  • self down to the house of God, and let God do
  • 00:12:35.230 --> 00:12:38.130
  • what he said he would do.
  • 00:12:38.140 --> 00:12:40.100
  • He doesn't need your brain to try to figure out how he's gonna
  • 00:12:40.110 --> 00:12:42.290
  • do it and why it works.
  • 00:12:43.000 --> 00:12:44.230
  • It just works.
  • 00:12:44.240 --> 00:12:49.080
  • So, get to the house of God, amen?
  • 00:12:50.030 --> 00:12:53.010
  • Don't stay away. Don't run from God.
  • 00:12:53.020 --> 00:12:56.010
  • Run to the house. Get in the gathering, amen?
  • 00:12:56.020 --> 00:13:02.030
  • So, I began to do that, and I continue to do that every day.
  • 00:13:02.040 --> 00:13:06.160
  • The second thing, Jesus took me to John the 11th chapter.
  • 00:13:06.170 --> 00:13:10.060
  • Are you ready?
  • 00:13:10.070 --> 00:13:11.240
  • John chapter 11, and again, very familiar verse, you know?
  • 00:13:11.250 --> 00:13:14.270
  • I've taught a lot of messages, as many pastors in here have.
  • 00:13:14.280 --> 00:13:17.130
  • A lot of you know this story.
  • 00:13:17.140 --> 00:13:19.020
  • But in John the 11th chapter, Jesus finds out about
  • 00:13:19.030 --> 00:13:22.030
  • someone that he really cares about is sick.
  • 00:13:22.040 --> 00:13:24.160
  • His name is Lazarus.
  • 00:13:24.170 --> 00:13:26.080
  • And he eventually works his way to the town, and so we'll begin
  • 00:13:26.090 --> 00:13:30.050
  • reading at verse 18.
  • 00:13:30.060 --> 00:13:32.150
  • "Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen
  • 00:13:32.160 --> 00:13:34.130
  • furlongs off: And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary,
  • 00:13:34.140 --> 00:13:37.210
  • to comfort them concerning their brother.
  • 00:13:37.220 --> 00:13:40.060
  • Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming,
  • 00:13:40.070 --> 00:13:42.240
  • went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house.
  • 00:13:42.250 --> 00:13:47.020
  • Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if you had been here,
  • 00:13:47.030 --> 00:13:52.040
  • my brother had not died."
  • 00:13:52.050 --> 00:13:54.280
  • That's quite a statement, isn't it?
  • 00:13:54.290 --> 00:13:57.080
  • But watch.
  • 00:13:57.090 --> 00:13:59.130
  • "But I know, that even now, whatsoever you will ask of God,
  • 00:13:59.140 --> 00:14:04.200
  • God will give it you."
  • 00:14:04.210 --> 00:14:08.200
  • Now, she says something, but she doesn't say it.
  • 00:14:08.210 --> 00:14:12.180
  • She's hinting towards something.
  • 00:14:12.190 --> 00:14:15.110
  • She's saying, right, "If you had been here,
  • 00:14:15.120 --> 00:14:17.270
  • he wouldn't have died.
  • 00:14:17.280 --> 00:14:19.090
  • He did die, but now you're here, and whatever you ask the Father,
  • 00:14:19.100 --> 00:14:25.050
  • he'll give it to you."
  • 00:14:25.060 --> 00:14:28.200
  • Right?
  • 00:14:28.210 --> 00:14:30.010
  • Are you catching what I'm hinting to here, Jesus?
  • 00:14:30.020 --> 00:14:32.090
  • I'm hinting to something, right?
  • 00:14:32.100 --> 00:14:34.200
  • And Jesus responds.
  • 00:14:34.210 --> 00:14:36.280
  • Watch what he said, "Jesus said unto her,
  • 00:14:36.290 --> 00:14:40.230
  • Your brother shall rise again.
  • 00:14:40.240 --> 00:14:44.180
  • Martha said unto him, I know that he will rise again in the
  • 00:14:44.190 --> 00:14:51.070
  • resurrection at the last day."
  • 00:14:51.080 --> 00:14:54.050
  • Bless her heart.
  • 00:14:54.060 --> 00:15:00.110
  • There's a great lesson here, and it's very difficult sometimes
  • 00:15:00.120 --> 00:15:05.090
  • to understand this and to see this.
  • 00:15:05.100 --> 00:15:09.080
  • She hints at Jesus that he could do something
  • 00:15:09.090 --> 00:15:12.270
  • about Lazarus being dead.
  • 00:15:12.280 --> 00:15:14.130
  • She hints to that, and Jesus responds,
  • 00:15:14.140 --> 00:15:16.190
  • and her response is really good.
  • 00:15:16.200 --> 00:15:20.110
  • And I think really what she could've said was, "I know he
  • 00:15:20.120 --> 00:15:24.200
  • will rise again, period," but I understand where she went.
  • 00:15:24.210 --> 00:15:32.250
  • Notice in Martha's conversation with Jesus that Martha did a lot
  • 00:15:32.260 --> 00:15:37.100
  • of what we can do if we're not careful, and I understand why.
  • 00:15:37.110 --> 00:15:42.250
  • Martha said, "If you had been here, things would've
  • 00:15:42.260 --> 00:15:48.250
  • worked out differently."
  • 00:15:48.260 --> 00:15:52.040
  • Jesus says, "Things are gonna be different."
  • 00:15:52.050 --> 00:15:56.260
  • She says, "I know they will in the future."
  • 00:15:56.270 --> 00:16:02.180
  • A lot of times, when life doesn't play along,
  • 00:16:02.190 --> 00:16:08.090
  • your natural and emotional tendency is to go to the past
  • 00:16:08.100 --> 00:16:16.250
  • or to go to the future.
  • 00:16:16.260 --> 00:16:20.070
  • But where you don't wanna go is the present, and the reason
  • 00:16:20.080 --> 00:16:24.100
  • why you don't wanna go to present is because that's where
  • 00:16:24.110 --> 00:16:26.260
  • all the pain is.
  • 00:16:26.270 --> 00:16:31.160
  • Some of you know what I'm talking about.
  • 00:16:31.170 --> 00:16:38.070
  • But when life doesn't play along, you gotta let him in.
  • 00:16:39.040 --> 00:16:44.280
  • "Him, who, Pastor?"
  • 00:16:44.290 --> 00:16:46.230
  • Him, the now God.
  • 00:16:46.240 --> 00:16:49.290
  • announcer: This powerful message continues
  • 00:16:52.200 --> 00:16:54.220
  • when we return.
  • 00:16:54.230 --> 00:16:56.070
  • Charles: You tried to get up, but you can't get up.
  • 00:16:56.080 --> 00:16:59.090
  • Can I give you a good word this morning?
  • 00:16:59.100 --> 00:17:02.240
  • You don't have to get up.
  • 00:17:02.250 --> 00:17:05.110
  • All you gotta do is let him that is in you do what he is.
  • 00:17:05.120 --> 00:17:10.230
  • Let him stand up and you will stand up with him.
  • 00:17:10.240 --> 00:17:17.110
  • 00:17:17.120 --> 00:17:19.120
  • Charles: You gotta let him into your present, not the past,
  • 00:17:25.240 --> 00:17:31.020
  • not the future.
  • 00:17:31.030 --> 00:17:32.150
  • You've gotta let him into your now moment, into the room
  • 00:17:32.160 --> 00:17:36.150
  • where all the pain is.
  • 00:17:36.160 --> 00:17:38.090
  • You gotta let him into this moment, right here, right now.
  • 00:17:38.100 --> 00:17:42.160
  • You gotta let him in, the now God.
  • 00:17:42.170 --> 00:17:45.040
  • And look what Jesus said.
  • 00:17:45.050 --> 00:17:46.280
  • "Jesus said unto her, I am," I am, I am.
  • 00:17:46.290 --> 00:17:54.150
  • You know, you and I read the Bible, and we know,
  • 00:17:54.160 --> 00:17:56.190
  • and we're used to Jesus saying the phrase, "I am."
  • 00:17:56.200 --> 00:17:59.230
  • We're used to him saying, "I am the bread of life.
  • 00:17:59.240 --> 00:18:02.040
  • I am the tree of life. I am the living water.
  • 00:18:02.050 --> 00:18:05.150
  • I am this and that."
  • 00:18:05.160 --> 00:18:07.030
  • We're used to that, but if you had been there that day in that
  • 00:18:07.040 --> 00:18:10.080
  • area and you were raised in the Jewish tradition, you would've
  • 00:18:10.090 --> 00:18:14.030
  • known that when Jesus said, "I am," every person in that sound
  • 00:18:14.040 --> 00:18:19.180
  • of his voice, their ears picked up because they knew
  • 00:18:19.190 --> 00:18:22.290
  • where that phrase came from.
  • 00:18:23.000 --> 00:18:24.180
  • Nobody talked like that.
  • 00:18:24.190 --> 00:18:26.090
  • Nobody used that phrase.
  • 00:18:26.100 --> 00:18:28.030
  • That phrase was reserved to the book of Exodus, when Moses is
  • 00:18:28.040 --> 00:18:31.240
  • standing in front of a bush that's burning
  • 00:18:31.250 --> 00:18:33.240
  • and the bush is talking.
  • 00:18:33.250 --> 00:18:35.140
  • And Moses says, "Who do I say sent me?"
  • 00:18:35.150 --> 00:18:39.200
  • and the voice came out of the bush and said, "You tell them
  • 00:18:39.210 --> 00:18:42.200
  • I Am sent you," and in the Hebrew, that's the Hebrew word,
  • 00:18:42.210 --> 00:18:47.120
  • "Yahweh," which is the Hebrew word for Jesus, Redeemer,
  • 00:18:47.130 --> 00:18:51.150
  • Deliverer, Savior.
  • 00:18:51.160 --> 00:18:53.020
  • Redeemer, Deliverer, Savior.
  • 00:18:53.030 --> 00:18:55.030
  • That part of the Godhead that was speaking to Moses that day
  • 00:18:55.040 --> 00:18:58.110
  • in that bush was known as--we know him as Jesus, they knew him
  • 00:18:58.120 --> 00:19:02.250
  • as Yahweh, the hand of grace.
  • 00:19:02.260 --> 00:19:09.260
  • And he said, "I am. I am."
  • 00:19:12.150 --> 00:19:17.170
  • The same God that was in the burning bush is standing
  • 00:19:17.180 --> 00:19:19.210
  • in front of you today.
  • 00:19:19.220 --> 00:19:22.140
  • "I am.
  • 00:19:22.150 --> 00:19:24.160
  • I am the resurrection and the life."
  • 00:19:24.170 --> 00:19:28.090
  • Write it down. I'm a Bible teacher.
  • 00:19:28.100 --> 00:19:30.110
  • I look up words. That's what I do.
  • 00:19:30.120 --> 00:19:32.050
  • I've been doing this since I was a little boy.
  • 00:19:32.060 --> 00:19:34.150
  • I believe the more you know, the more free you can be, right?
  • 00:19:34.160 --> 00:19:39.160
  • The more you understand, the better off
  • 00:19:39.170 --> 00:19:40.290
  • your life is gonna be.
  • 00:19:41.000 --> 00:19:42.290
  • And so, I looked up that word "resurrection," are you ready?
  • 00:19:43.000 --> 00:19:45.260
  • In the Greek text, the word "resurrection," Jesus said,
  • 00:19:45.270 --> 00:19:48.110
  • "I am the stand up and the recovery.
  • 00:19:48.120 --> 00:19:51.190
  • I am the stand up and the recovery.
  • 00:19:51.200 --> 00:19:53.290
  • I am the stand up and the recovery.
  • 00:19:54.210 --> 00:19:57.000
  • I am the stand up and the recovery.
  • 00:19:57.190 --> 00:20:00.120
  • I am the stand up and the recovery."
  • 00:20:00.130 --> 00:20:03.130
  • I'm gonna keep saying it 'cause I like to hear it.
  • 00:20:03.140 --> 00:20:05.150
  • "I am the stand up and the recovery.
  • 00:20:05.160 --> 00:20:08.080
  • I am the stand up and the recovery.
  • 00:20:08.090 --> 00:20:10.210
  • I am the stand up and the recovery.
  • 00:20:11.090 --> 00:20:13.230
  • I am the stand up and the recovery.
  • 00:20:14.110 --> 00:20:16.290
  • I am the stand up and the recovery."
  • 00:20:17.000 --> 00:20:20.010
  • Notice what Jesus said.
  • 00:20:20.020 --> 00:20:21.250
  • He said, "I am the stand up and the recovery."
  • 00:20:21.260 --> 00:20:26.160
  • Some of you right now, life has knocked you down.
  • 00:20:26.170 --> 00:20:30.000
  • Something has happened to you.
  • 00:20:30.010 --> 00:20:32.230
  • You feel like you've been hit by a road grader and you're down.
  • 00:20:32.240 --> 00:20:38.040
  • And you've come, and you hear all of us, and you go to your
  • 00:20:38.050 --> 00:20:40.150
  • pastor, you go to us, and we're all sincere, and we're all
  • 00:20:40.160 --> 00:20:42.130
  • trying to do our best, and we tell you, you know,
  • 00:20:42.140 --> 00:20:45.120
  • you gotta get up.
  • 00:20:45.130 --> 00:20:46.250
  • But sometimes, I'm just gonna be honest with you, sometimes you
  • 00:20:46.260 --> 00:20:49.100
  • don't know if you can get up.
  • 00:20:49.110 --> 00:20:53.170
  • You tried to get up, but you can't get up.
  • 00:20:53.180 --> 00:20:56.180
  • Can I give you a good word this morning?
  • 00:20:56.190 --> 00:21:00.070
  • You don't have to get up.
  • 00:21:00.080 --> 00:21:02.200
  • All you gotta do is let him that is in you do what he is.
  • 00:21:02.210 --> 00:21:08.030
  • Let him stand up and you will stand up with him.
  • 00:21:08.040 --> 00:21:14.200
  • Let he that is in you stand up in you.
  • 00:21:14.210 --> 00:21:18.200
  • Let him come up on the inside of you.
  • 00:21:18.210 --> 00:21:21.040
  • Turn to him and say, "You are my stand up," and let him--
  • 00:21:21.050 --> 00:21:24.240
  • picture him on the inside of you right now.
  • 00:21:24.250 --> 00:21:27.090
  • You may be down on the ground, and let him just come up.
  • 00:21:27.100 --> 00:21:30.100
  • And when he comes up, guess who's coming up with him?
  • 00:21:30.110 --> 00:21:33.020
  • You're coming up too.
  • 00:21:33.030 --> 00:21:34.150
  • You don't have to stay down there, he will bring you up.
  • 00:21:34.160 --> 00:21:37.140
  • He will stand you up, why?
  • 00:21:37.150 --> 00:21:39.100
  • Because he is, not me, not you,
  • 00:21:39.110 --> 00:21:48.020
  • he is the stand up and the recovery.
  • 00:21:48.030 --> 00:21:53.050
  • Remember that word "recovery," it'll come back up
  • 00:21:53.060 --> 00:21:54.240
  • in another minute.
  • 00:21:54.250 --> 00:21:56.140
  • Then he said--now get ready.
  • 00:21:56.150 --> 00:21:58.120
  • He said, "I am the stand up and the recovery, and I am
  • 00:21:58.130 --> 00:22:02.260
  • the resurrection and the life."
  • 00:22:02.270 --> 00:22:05.210
  • The word "life" there-- write this down.
  • 00:22:05.220 --> 00:22:07.060
  • The word "life" there in the Greek text means--listen,
  • 00:22:07.070 --> 00:22:09.180
  • listen, listen, this is really powerful.
  • 00:22:09.190 --> 00:22:12.220
  • It's really powerful and it'll go right by you
  • 00:22:12.230 --> 00:22:14.150
  • if you don't focus on it.
  • 00:22:14.160 --> 00:22:16.200
  • Jesus said, "I am the life that satisfies,
  • 00:22:16.210 --> 00:22:22.030
  • dwelling in your life.
  • 00:22:22.040 --> 00:22:25.170
  • I am the life that satisfies."
  • 00:22:25.180 --> 00:22:27.270
  • Now, I'm gonna make a statement, and please hear me when I make
  • 00:22:27.280 --> 00:22:30.230
  • it, because if you don't hear what I'm gonna say, you're gonna
  • 00:22:30.240 --> 00:22:33.130
  • walk out of here and say, "That is not a nice man,"
  • 00:22:33.140 --> 00:22:38.040
  • and I am a nice guy.
  • 00:22:38.050 --> 00:22:42.140
  • So, you need to hear this, right?
  • 00:22:42.150 --> 00:22:46.230
  • This is the reality that I had to bring into my life, and it
  • 00:22:46.240 --> 00:22:49.220
  • actually happened to me one night in my bedroom by myself.
  • 00:22:49.230 --> 00:22:52.160
  • It was about 3 o'clock in the morning
  • 00:22:52.170 --> 00:22:54.240
  • and I was having a terrible time.
  • 00:22:54.250 --> 00:22:56.280
  • It was not good in my life, and I couldn't sleep, and I was
  • 00:22:56.290 --> 00:23:00.040
  • crying, and I was missing my wife, and thinking about life,
  • 00:23:00.050 --> 00:23:03.270
  • and thinking about things, and these verses came alive to me.
  • 00:23:03.280 --> 00:23:11.130
  • And that night, Jesus stood up in me
  • 00:23:11.140 --> 00:23:18.160
  • and he hasn't sat back down.
  • 00:23:18.170 --> 00:23:21.220
  • [audience applauding]
  • 00:23:21.230 --> 00:23:25.210
  • And then, a few days later, I was thinking about it, and that
  • 00:23:25.220 --> 00:23:28.160
  • became very real and very powerful to me.
  • 00:23:28.170 --> 00:23:31.030
  • Then a few days later, I focused in on--I realized that I'd kinda
  • 00:23:31.040 --> 00:23:34.290
  • neglected the life part, and so I came back to that,
  • 00:23:35.000 --> 00:23:39.030
  • and I looked at it, and I began to meditate upon it.
  • 00:23:39.040 --> 00:23:41.190
  • And Jesus said, "I am the life that satisfies."
  • 00:23:41.200 --> 00:23:46.290
  • There was no part of my heart that Rochelle did not have.
  • 00:23:47.250 --> 00:23:54.070
  • I loved her with everything I have.
  • 00:23:57.090 --> 00:23:59.120
  • Still do. I miss her terribly.
  • 00:23:59.130 --> 00:24:05.130
  • And yet, here's the reality.
  • 00:24:06.210 --> 00:24:11.260
  • As much as she gave me, she did not give me life.
  • 00:24:11.270 --> 00:24:17.250
  • On Sunday morning, December the 30th, at 8:45 in the morning,
  • 00:24:17.260 --> 00:24:20.270
  • Rochelle left me, Jesus did not.
  • 00:24:20.280 --> 00:24:26.250
  • He is still here and he is--he is--listen to me now.
  • 00:24:26.260 --> 00:24:31.030
  • You gotta get this.
  • 00:24:31.040 --> 00:24:33.080
  • I had to put my focus, and you do too,
  • 00:24:33.090 --> 00:24:39.060
  • that he is the life that satisfies.
  • 00:24:39.070 --> 00:24:45.120
  • Can I say something to you?
  • 00:24:45.130 --> 00:24:47.130
  • And I'm really just trying to help somebody.
  • 00:24:47.140 --> 00:24:50.180
  • Don't say, don't let yourself think, "I can't live without
  • 00:24:50.190 --> 00:24:58.030
  • this person," or "I can't live without this," or "I can't."
  • 00:24:58.040 --> 00:25:02.090
  • No, because when you say that, you're putting them in the place
  • 00:25:02.100 --> 00:25:09.020
  • where only he belongs.
  • 00:25:09.030 --> 00:25:13.130
  • He is the life that satisfies, and you gotta let him
  • 00:25:13.140 --> 00:25:22.240
  • stay in that place.
  • 00:25:22.250 --> 00:25:25.240
  • The life that satisfies, amen?
  • 00:25:25.250 --> 00:25:30.130
  • All right, I gotta move along, okay?
  • 00:25:30.140 --> 00:25:34.230
  • Is Jesus who gave me life?
  • 00:25:34.240 --> 00:25:37.220
  • I said that night in my room, my bedroom, "I still have to live.
  • 00:25:37.230 --> 00:25:40.260
  • I can't quit, because he is my life that satisfies."
  • 00:25:40.270 --> 00:25:45.140
  • And then further on in the chapter, real quick, the Bible
  • 00:25:45.150 --> 00:25:48.050
  • says Jesus begins to move towards the tomb and he groaned.
  • 00:25:48.060 --> 00:25:51.250
  • Did you notice that?
  • 00:25:51.260 --> 00:25:53.090
  • It says in verses 33 and 38 that he groaned.
  • 00:25:53.100 --> 00:25:55.290
  • The word "groaned" there in the Greek text
  • 00:25:56.000 --> 00:25:57.150
  • is a very powerful word.
  • 00:25:57.160 --> 00:25:58.250
  • It means to become indignant. It means to roar.
  • 00:25:58.260 --> 00:26:05.140
  • Some of you, you need to get your roar back.
  • 00:26:05.150 --> 00:26:10.070
  • I said you need to get your roar back.
  • 00:26:10.080 --> 00:26:13.150
  • You need to become indignant about what happened to you.
  • 00:26:13.160 --> 00:26:17.230
  • You cannot let yourself be pushed into passive acceptance.
  • 00:26:17.240 --> 00:26:24.210
  • You've got to get your indignant--the word "indignant"
  • 00:26:24.220 --> 00:26:27.180
  • means to be aroused by anger due to injustice.
  • 00:26:27.190 --> 00:26:32.290
  • See, in my opinion, what happened to my wife should not
  • 00:26:33.000 --> 00:26:35.280
  • have happened, and I'm angry about it, and I have told my
  • 00:26:35.290 --> 00:26:40.060
  • church, and I've told my friends, for as many years
  • 00:26:40.070 --> 00:26:42.200
  • as I have left, I'm going to live my life with a vengeance.
  • 00:26:42.210 --> 00:26:46.250
  • I'm asking God to cause my life to bear more fruit in the years
  • 00:26:46.260 --> 00:26:51.160
  • I have than in all the years I've already borne.
  • 00:26:51.170 --> 00:26:54.140
  • That I am gonna do more, I'm going to accomplish more.
  • 00:26:54.150 --> 00:26:57.210
  • I'm going to do what Jesus said--did in Matthew 14 when
  • 00:26:57.220 --> 00:27:02.000
  • they killed John the Baptist.
  • 00:27:02.010 --> 00:27:03.210
  • He went out and healed the sick.
  • 00:27:03.220 --> 00:27:06.270
  • And so, you've got to get your roar back.
  • 00:27:06.280 --> 00:27:09.120
  • Am I helping anybody? You gotta get indignant.
  • 00:27:09.130 --> 00:27:14.160
  • announcer: Don't go anywhere, because there's more to come
  • 00:27:14.170 --> 00:27:17.180
  • on "The Best of Hillsong Conference."
  • 00:27:17.190 --> 00:27:19.230
  • Charles: The Apostle Paul lists this amazing list
  • 00:27:19.240 --> 00:27:23.160
  • of things that he went through.
  • 00:27:23.170 --> 00:27:25.010
  • Have you ever read it?
  • 00:27:25.020 --> 00:27:26.110
  • There's one thing on that list that I notice
  • 00:27:26.120 --> 00:27:27.270
  • that Paul didn't say.
  • 00:27:27.280 --> 00:27:29.070
  • Paul never said, "Why me?"
  • 00:27:29.080 --> 00:27:31.170
  • 00:27:31.180 --> 00:27:33.180
  • it'll take too long to read it.
  • 00:27:38.150 --> 00:27:39.240
  • In 2 Corinthians chapter 11, the Apostle Paul lists this
  • 00:27:39.250 --> 00:27:44.170
  • amazing list of things that he went through.
  • 00:27:44.180 --> 00:27:46.280
  • Have you ever read it?
  • 00:27:46.290 --> 00:27:48.080
  • I mean, he was--you know, "I was beaten with stripes five times.
  • 00:27:48.090 --> 00:27:51.010
  • I was beaten with rods. I was stoned to death.
  • 00:27:51.020 --> 00:27:56.010
  • I was shipwrecked.
  • 00:27:56.020 --> 00:27:57.110
  • I was stolen from by friends, by robbers, by church people.
  • 00:27:57.120 --> 00:28:01.110
  • I was lied on."
  • 00:28:01.120 --> 00:28:04.010
  • Ever read that list?
  • 00:28:04.020 --> 00:28:05.120
  • I mean, it's an astounding list, you know?
  • 00:28:05.130 --> 00:28:07.070
  • But there's one thing on that list that I notice
  • 00:28:07.080 --> 00:28:09.080
  • that Paul didn't say.
  • 00:28:09.090 --> 00:28:10.180
  • Paul never said, "Why me?"
  • 00:28:10.190 --> 00:28:16.000
  • He never said, "Why me?"
  • 00:28:16.010 --> 00:28:18.200
  • Now, I think he could've, personally.
  • 00:28:18.210 --> 00:28:22.260
  • I think Paul could've easily looked at his life and said,
  • 00:28:22.270 --> 00:28:26.230
  • "Jesus, come on, man. Come on.
  • 00:28:26.240 --> 00:28:34.190
  • Why me?
  • 00:28:34.200 --> 00:28:37.020
  • In case you haven't noticed, they haven't tied me
  • 00:28:37.030 --> 00:28:39.070
  • to the whipping post once, not twice, five times.
  • 00:28:39.080 --> 00:28:43.260
  • Three times I've been beaten with rods.
  • 00:28:43.270 --> 00:28:45.190
  • They killed me with rocks, Jesus.
  • 00:28:45.200 --> 00:28:47.290
  • They stoned me to death. I've been robbed.
  • 00:28:48.000 --> 00:28:50.060
  • I've been asleep overnight in the ocean.
  • 00:28:50.070 --> 00:28:52.170
  • I've been here, I've been there. I've been lied on.
  • 00:28:52.180 --> 00:28:54.130
  • I've been thrown out of town. I've been beaten up.
  • 00:28:54.140 --> 00:28:56.110
  • I've been betrayed.
  • 00:28:56.120 --> 00:28:57.210
  • I've had all of this stuff happen to me, in addition
  • 00:28:57.220 --> 00:28:59.170
  • to the fact that I gotta take care of all the churches.
  • 00:28:59.180 --> 00:29:02.120
  • Hey, hey, why me?
  • 00:29:02.130 --> 00:29:04.000
  • Why not Peter?
  • 00:29:04.010 --> 00:29:07.140
  • I mean, you know, he is the one that denied you.
  • 00:29:07.150 --> 00:29:10.230
  • I haven't denied you, but Peter--no, Peter just floats
  • 00:29:10.240 --> 00:29:14.070
  • around, everybody going, 'Oh Peter, oh Peter, oh Peter.'
  • 00:29:14.080 --> 00:29:16.230
  • Where's Paul?
  • 00:29:16.240 --> 00:29:18.110
  • Paul's out here getting beat up.
  • 00:29:18.120 --> 00:29:20.260
  • Why not Peter?
  • 00:29:20.270 --> 00:29:22.080
  • Hey, forget Peter, what about that Thomas guy?"
  • 00:29:22.090 --> 00:29:28.020
  • Now, we're having some fun with that, but very quickly,
  • 00:29:32.050 --> 00:29:34.070
  • let me just tell you something.
  • 00:29:34.080 --> 00:29:38.020
  • I came to a revelation one night when I was looking at this.
  • 00:29:42.090 --> 00:29:45.050
  • You see, what that did for me, it helped me to get my
  • 00:29:45.060 --> 00:29:47.040
  • perspective straight, because I accepted one day that,
  • 00:29:47.050 --> 00:29:51.000
  • you know what, I'm not the first man to lose his wife
  • 00:29:51.010 --> 00:29:53.290
  • and I won't be the last.
  • 00:29:54.000 --> 00:29:56.200
  • You have to accept that all the universe
  • 00:29:56.210 --> 00:29:59.210
  • did not align to get you.
  • 00:29:59.220 --> 00:30:05.170
  • And what happened with Rochelle is between
  • 00:30:09.010 --> 00:30:14.120
  • the Lord and Rochelle.
  • 00:30:14.130 --> 00:30:18.220
  • It's not about me and him, it's about her and him.
  • 00:30:18.230 --> 00:30:25.000
  • And what happened with her and him, are you ready,
  • 00:30:25.010 --> 00:30:29.100
  • is none of my business.
  • 00:30:29.110 --> 00:30:32.130
  • What's my business is what happens between me and him.
  • 00:30:32.140 --> 00:30:37.280
  • And what is important to you is what happens
  • 00:30:37.290 --> 00:30:41.130
  • between you and him, amen?
  • 00:30:41.140 --> 00:30:45.110
  • Paul didn't say, "What about Peter?"
  • 00:30:45.120 --> 00:30:47.050
  • Paul just said, "You and me."
  • 00:30:47.060 --> 00:30:50.080
  • All right, last one.
  • 00:30:50.090 --> 00:30:51.180
  • Turn in your Bible with me to 1 Samuel chapter 30.
  • 00:30:51.190 --> 00:30:55.080
  • 1 Samuel chapter 30. Here we go.
  • 00:30:55.090 --> 00:30:59.250
  • David is living in Ziklag.
  • 00:30:59.260 --> 00:31:02.130
  • He's on the run from Saul, and he goes off to help the
  • 00:31:02.140 --> 00:31:05.100
  • Philistines fight against Israel, and the Philistines
  • 00:31:05.110 --> 00:31:07.230
  • won't let him, so they come back to Ziklag, right?
  • 00:31:07.240 --> 00:31:11.030
  • It's a day and a half going and a day and a half coming back.
  • 00:31:11.040 --> 00:31:14.040
  • And in verse 30--chapter 30, verse 1, "And it came to pass,
  • 00:31:14.050 --> 00:31:17.020
  • when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that
  • 00:31:17.030 --> 00:31:19.170
  • the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten
  • 00:31:19.180 --> 00:31:22.180
  • Ziklag, and burned it with fire; And had taken the women
  • 00:31:22.190 --> 00:31:25.120
  • captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great
  • 00:31:25.130 --> 00:31:28.000
  • or small, but carried them away, and went on their way,"
  • 00:31:28.010 --> 00:31:30.270
  • all right?
  • 00:31:30.280 --> 00:31:32.070
  • "So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was
  • 00:31:32.080 --> 00:31:34.050
  • burned with fire;" watch, "and their sons, and their daughters,
  • 00:31:34.060 --> 00:31:38.170
  • and their wives, were taken captives.
  • 00:31:38.180 --> 00:31:42.230
  • And David and the people that were with him lifted up their
  • 00:31:42.240 --> 00:31:45.240
  • voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep."
  • 00:31:45.250 --> 00:31:52.100
  • Wow.
  • 00:31:52.110 --> 00:31:55.090
  • Now, in 1 Chronicles 29, verse 6, it says that at this
  • 00:31:55.100 --> 00:31:58.070
  • stage in David's life, he was living upright.
  • 00:31:58.080 --> 00:32:00.090
  • He was living the right way.
  • 00:32:00.100 --> 00:32:02.030
  • Now, you can't say that about David's life all the time,
  • 00:32:02.040 --> 00:32:04.040
  • but at this time in his life, he was living upright.
  • 00:32:04.050 --> 00:32:07.050
  • But here's the reality, sometimes really crummy stuff
  • 00:32:07.060 --> 00:32:11.010
  • happens to really good people.
  • 00:32:11.020 --> 00:32:16.080
  • "How come, Pastor?"
  • 00:32:18.150 --> 00:32:19.250
  • I don't know. I don't know.
  • 00:32:19.260 --> 00:32:25.100
  • I don't concern myself with things too wonderful for me.
  • 00:32:25.110 --> 00:32:31.100
  • I do concern myself with how I'm going to respond, because, like
  • 00:32:31.110 --> 00:32:36.240
  • it or not, bubba, Friday's coming and you
  • 00:32:36.250 --> 00:32:41.150
  • better be ready for it.
  • 00:32:41.160 --> 00:32:43.020
  • Life keeps coming, and how you respond to it.
  • 00:32:43.030 --> 00:32:48.090
  • Now, look what happens here.
  • 00:32:48.100 --> 00:32:50.110
  • It says, "They wept, until they had no more power to weep."
  • 00:32:50.120 --> 00:32:53.100
  • I'm gonna be very honest with you.
  • 00:32:53.110 --> 00:32:56.230
  • I've done a lot of crying since all this happened.
  • 00:32:56.240 --> 00:33:01.100
  • A lot.
  • 00:33:01.110 --> 00:33:04.110
  • And it seems like every time I went there,
  • 00:33:04.120 --> 00:33:07.110
  • I had the power to do it.
  • 00:33:07.120 --> 00:33:09.110
  • I cannot imagine coming to a place where you've wept so much
  • 00:33:09.120 --> 00:33:14.110
  • there's no more power to weep, but that's where these men were.
  • 00:33:14.120 --> 00:33:18.160
  • Now, watch what happens, all right?
  • 00:33:18.170 --> 00:33:20.020
  • Here we go.
  • 00:33:20.030 --> 00:33:21.140
  • Verse 6, "And David was greatly distressed."
  • 00:33:21.150 --> 00:33:25.190
  • So, David's day goes from bad to worse.
  • 00:33:25.200 --> 00:33:28.080
  • Watch, "And David was greatly stressed, for the people spake
  • 00:33:28.090 --> 00:33:31.170
  • of stoning him," you gotta be kidding me, "because the soul of
  • 00:33:31.180 --> 00:33:36.090
  • all the people was grieved," watch, "every man for his sons
  • 00:33:36.100 --> 00:33:40.100
  • and for his daughters: but David."
  • 00:33:40.110 --> 00:33:43.030
  • Notice now, catch this, right?
  • 00:33:43.040 --> 00:33:45.000
  • Everybody's in the same spot. Everybody's grieving.
  • 00:33:45.010 --> 00:33:47.130
  • Everybody's weeping. Everybody is sad.
  • 00:33:47.140 --> 00:33:49.220
  • Everybody's heart is torn out. Can you imagine?
  • 00:33:49.230 --> 00:33:52.030
  • Their wives, their sons, their daughters, all their
  • 00:33:52.040 --> 00:33:54.000
  • possessions, and their houses are burned.
  • 00:33:54.010 --> 00:33:56.140
  • That is a lousy, crummy day.
  • 00:33:56.150 --> 00:33:59.250
  • Life is not playing along for David and his men, right?
  • 00:33:59.260 --> 00:34:04.030
  • And it says they all wept together.
  • 00:34:04.040 --> 00:34:06.100
  • But then something happened, right?
  • 00:34:06.110 --> 00:34:08.110
  • They're going down a road emotionally.
  • 00:34:08.120 --> 00:34:10.180
  • Watch what happens, right?
  • 00:34:10.190 --> 00:34:12.120
  • They're going down the same road and they come to a crossroad.
  • 00:34:12.130 --> 00:34:15.190
  • And David's men take one path, and the Bible says, "But David,"
  • 00:34:15.200 --> 00:34:20.290
  • so David took a different path.
  • 00:34:21.000 --> 00:34:22.230
  • The men that were with David, the Bible said they were
  • 00:34:22.240 --> 00:34:25.210
  • grieved, but in the Hebrew text it says they became bitter.
  • 00:34:25.220 --> 00:34:30.000
  • They became bitter.
  • 00:34:30.010 --> 00:34:31.210
  • The word "bitter" in the dictionary means
  • 00:34:31.220 --> 00:34:33.130
  • they became intensely hostile.
  • 00:34:33.140 --> 00:34:36.070
  • Bitterness, write it down.
  • 00:34:36.080 --> 00:34:37.260
  • I've studied it out. I may be wrong.
  • 00:34:37.270 --> 00:34:39.190
  • There's other greater Bible teachers than me here.
  • 00:34:39.200 --> 00:34:41.150
  • But I've found that there's two negative emotions in the human
  • 00:34:41.160 --> 00:34:44.120
  • heart that the Bible refers to as having a root.
  • 00:34:44.130 --> 00:34:47.060
  • Number one is the love of money. Number two is bitterness.
  • 00:34:47.070 --> 00:34:51.080
  • And you've gotta be careful with bitterness in your life, my
  • 00:34:51.090 --> 00:34:54.060
  • brothers and my sisters, because you may get bitter in one area
  • 00:34:54.070 --> 00:34:58.040
  • of your life, but 20 years from now, that bitterness is gonna be
  • 00:34:58.050 --> 00:35:01.260
  • in many areas of your life.
  • 00:35:01.270 --> 00:35:04.100
  • It sends out roots and it'll spread into other areas
  • 00:35:04.110 --> 00:35:07.110
  • of your life.
  • 00:35:07.120 --> 00:35:08.280
  • And right now, maybe people are putting up with your bitterness,
  • 00:35:08.290 --> 00:35:11.110
  • but 10 years from now, they won't.
  • 00:35:11.120 --> 00:35:13.030
  • You know why?
  • 00:35:13.040 --> 00:35:14.230
  • 'Cause they're getting tired of your hostility.
  • 00:35:14.240 --> 00:35:16.250
  • They're tired of you being angry.
  • 00:35:16.260 --> 00:35:18.260
  • They're tired of you being mad.
  • 00:35:18.270 --> 00:35:20.250
  • And that bitterness will infect your life.
  • 00:35:20.260 --> 00:35:23.140
  • It will suck you under.
  • 00:35:23.150 --> 00:35:26.040
  • And if you've got it in your life today, and you may be able
  • 00:35:26.050 --> 00:35:28.220
  • to justify it, but you've got to allow Jesus to take his Word
  • 00:35:28.230 --> 00:35:33.000
  • and go in there and dig that root out of your heart.
  • 00:35:33.010 --> 00:35:36.050
  • Because if you don't, you're gonna end up by yourself.
  • 00:35:36.060 --> 00:35:40.230
  • announcer: We'll be continuing with more
  • 00:35:43.040 --> 00:35:44.200
  • after the break.
  • 00:35:44.210 --> 00:35:46.000
  • Charles: In the Hebrew text, the word "encourage" means
  • 00:35:46.010 --> 00:35:48.150
  • that David chose to be recovered.
  • 00:35:48.160 --> 00:35:54.250
  • 00:35:54.260 --> 00:35:57.120
  • a different direction.
  • 00:36:02.060 --> 00:36:03.150
  • Write it down.
  • 00:36:03.160 --> 00:36:04.250
  • It says, "But David encouraged himself in the Lord."
  • 00:36:04.260 --> 00:36:07.040
  • Watch it.
  • 00:36:07.050 --> 00:36:08.140
  • "But David encouraged himself in the Lord."
  • 00:36:08.150 --> 00:36:10.280
  • What did he do?
  • 00:36:10.290 --> 00:36:12.080
  • "But David encouraged himself in the Lord."
  • 00:36:12.090 --> 00:36:15.010
  • The word "Lord" there is the Hebrew word "Yahweh,"
  • 00:36:15.020 --> 00:36:17.090
  • so he went to Redeemer, Deliverer, Savior.
  • 00:36:17.100 --> 00:36:20.200
  • He didn't go to El Shaddai. He didn't go to Jehovah.
  • 00:36:20.210 --> 00:36:23.150
  • He went to Yahweh.
  • 00:36:23.160 --> 00:36:25.090
  • He went to Redeemer, Deliverer, Savior.
  • 00:36:25.100 --> 00:36:28.290
  • He didn't understand it like we do, but he acted
  • 00:36:29.000 --> 00:36:31.230
  • on what he understood.
  • 00:36:31.240 --> 00:36:33.240
  • And he went to Redeemer, Deliverer, Savior, right?
  • 00:36:33.250 --> 00:36:36.200
  • Right? Right?
  • 00:36:36.210 --> 00:36:38.120
  • And he went to him and he said he encouraged himself in Yahweh.
  • 00:36:38.130 --> 00:36:41.270
  • He encouraged himself. We would say, "In Jesus."
  • 00:36:41.280 --> 00:36:45.000
  • He encouraged himself. Write it down.
  • 00:36:45.010 --> 00:36:46.270
  • The word "encourage" has two definitions.
  • 00:36:46.280 --> 00:36:48.200
  • Number one, it means he fastened himself.
  • 00:36:48.210 --> 00:36:52.210
  • He fastened himself. He fastened himself to the Lord.
  • 00:36:52.220 --> 00:36:57.260
  • He just fastened himself to the Lord.
  • 00:36:57.270 --> 00:37:00.220
  • But watch this, are you ready?
  • 00:37:00.230 --> 00:37:03.000
  • Number two, in the Hebrew text, the word "encourage" means
  • 00:37:03.010 --> 00:37:06.170
  • that David chose to be recovered.
  • 00:37:06.180 --> 00:37:13.250
  • David chose to be recovered. Listen to the verb tense.
  • 00:37:13.260 --> 00:37:19.200
  • David chose to be recovered.
  • 00:37:19.210 --> 00:37:24.250
  • David chose to be recovered.
  • 00:37:25.250 --> 00:37:31.020
  • I was laying in my bed one night, and I was so sad,
  • 00:37:31.030 --> 00:37:34.010
  • and I was crying.
  • 00:37:34.020 --> 00:37:35.110
  • And I started meditating on this verse, and I'm telling you the
  • 00:37:35.120 --> 00:37:37.210
  • truth, God knows it's the truth, I came up out of my bed, and I
  • 00:37:37.220 --> 00:37:41.240
  • stood there at 3 o'clock in the morning, and I sat there in my
  • 00:37:41.250 --> 00:37:44.290
  • room, and I got down on my knees, and I threw my hands up
  • 00:37:45.000 --> 00:37:47.200
  • to heaven, and I said, "Right here, right now,
  • 00:37:47.210 --> 00:37:51.270
  • if David can do it, Charles can do it.
  • 00:37:51.280 --> 00:37:54.290
  • And right here, right now, I choose to be recovered.
  • 00:37:55.000 --> 00:38:02.210
  • I won't get better, I won't recover, I choose right here,
  • 00:38:03.150 --> 00:38:09.130
  • right now, this moment, I choose to be recovered."
  • 00:38:09.140 --> 00:38:16.150
  • Why can I do that?
  • 00:38:16.160 --> 00:38:18.050
  • Because you are my stand up and my recovery.
  • 00:38:18.060 --> 00:38:21.250
  • You are in my life.
  • 00:38:21.260 --> 00:38:23.220
  • And right here, right now, right here, right now,
  • 00:38:23.230 --> 00:38:28.260
  • I choose to be recovered."
  • 00:38:28.270 --> 00:38:33.060
  • And if David can do it, and I can do it, you can do it.
  • 00:38:33.070 --> 00:38:41.210
  • He is the same Redeemer.
  • 00:38:44.190 --> 00:38:49.120
  • And I decided that night, I'm back.
  • 00:38:53.110 --> 00:38:59.140
  • Actually, to be honest with you, to be honest with you,
  • 00:38:59.150 --> 00:39:03.050
  • I never left.
  • 00:39:03.060 --> 00:39:07.170
  • But you gotta do it.
  • 00:39:09.270 --> 00:39:12.060
  • "Pastor, I can't."
  • 00:39:12.070 --> 00:39:13.160
  • I know you can't, that's why you're not the recovery,
  • 00:39:13.170 --> 00:39:15.090
  • he is the recovery.
  • 00:39:15.100 --> 00:39:17.070
  • That's why he took that out of your hands
  • 00:39:17.080 --> 00:39:19.020
  • and put it in his hands, amen?
  • 00:39:19.030 --> 00:39:22.080
  • Now, watch what happened. So, then David does what?
  • 00:39:22.090 --> 00:39:24.270
  • He goes to verse 8. You gotta see this.
  • 00:39:24.280 --> 00:39:26.290
  • "And David enquired at the Lord," came back to Yahweh,
  • 00:39:27.000 --> 00:39:29.150
  • "saying, Shall I pursue after this troop?
  • 00:39:29.160 --> 00:39:33.120
  • And shall I overtake them?"
  • 00:39:33.130 --> 00:39:36.060
  • I want you to notice-- and I'm not being ugly.
  • 00:39:36.070 --> 00:39:37.240
  • I'm not judging anybody.
  • 00:39:37.250 --> 00:39:39.060
  • I'm just--this helps me, right?
  • 00:39:39.070 --> 00:39:41.290
  • Maybe it'll help you, right?
  • 00:39:42.000 --> 00:39:43.260
  • David didn't say, "Lord, teach me how to live with this.
  • 00:39:43.270 --> 00:39:50.150
  • Teach me how to accept this."
  • 00:39:52.110 --> 00:39:55.160
  • No, he said, "Since I'm recovered, you want me
  • 00:39:55.170 --> 00:40:04.210
  • to go after these guys?
  • 00:40:04.220 --> 00:40:07.230
  • Because I'm ready to go after 'em.
  • 00:40:07.240 --> 00:40:12.270
  • I'm ready to get back in the game."
  • 00:40:12.280 --> 00:40:18.050
  • Now, watch. Look what God says to him.
  • 00:40:18.060 --> 00:40:21.250
  • He says, "Yes." Watch, what did David ask for?
  • 00:40:21.260 --> 00:40:24.130
  • David asked for two things, "Shall I pursue?
  • 00:40:24.140 --> 00:40:27.190
  • Shall I overtake?"
  • 00:40:27.200 --> 00:40:29.290
  • God says, look at it, "You shall pursue, you shall overtake."
  • 00:40:30.000 --> 00:40:36.050
  • But you know, he always does exceedingly, abundantly above
  • 00:40:36.060 --> 00:40:38.260
  • all you can ask or think according to the power
  • 00:40:38.270 --> 00:40:40.250
  • that works in you.
  • 00:40:40.260 --> 00:40:42.080
  • David asked for two things, God's gonna give him three.
  • 00:40:42.090 --> 00:40:45.260
  • He said, "You shall pursue, you shall overtake,"
  • 00:40:45.270 --> 00:40:48.240
  • and what does it say?
  • 00:40:48.250 --> 00:40:50.120
  • "And you shall recover all."
  • 00:40:50.130 --> 00:40:54.100
  • Right now at this stage in my life, I'll be honest with you,
  • 00:40:54.110 --> 00:40:56.230
  • I have no idea what recovery means to me.
  • 00:40:56.240 --> 00:40:59.030
  • I don't know what recovery means in my life.
  • 00:40:59.040 --> 00:41:01.060
  • I really don't.
  • 00:41:01.070 --> 00:41:02.160
  • And I'll tell you something, I decided that I'm
  • 00:41:02.170 --> 00:41:04.110
  • not gonna try to define it.
  • 00:41:04.120 --> 00:41:06.030
  • I'm gonna let he who is the stand up and the recovery
  • 00:41:06.040 --> 00:41:08.260
  • define recovery to me.
  • 00:41:08.270 --> 00:41:10.210
  • I know that one part of it is that from January to March,
  • 00:41:10.220 --> 00:41:13.280
  • our church grew 30%.
  • 00:41:13.290 --> 00:41:17.140
  • I don't know why.
  • 00:41:17.150 --> 00:41:19.080
  • I think he just went, "You know, that Nieman family,
  • 00:41:19.090 --> 00:41:22.030
  • that Abundant Living family, we need to just show the devil.
  • 00:41:22.040 --> 00:41:25.070
  • Boom, there you go.
  • 00:41:25.080 --> 00:41:26.290
  • How do you like that," right?
  • 00:41:27.000 --> 00:41:29.260
  • And I don't know what else it means, but I do know that he is
  • 00:41:29.270 --> 00:41:33.060
  • my stand up and my recovery.
  • 00:41:33.070 --> 00:41:35.060
  • And I wanna encourage you today,
  • 00:41:35.070 --> 00:41:36.260
  • don't you try to define recovery.
  • 00:41:36.270 --> 00:41:39.050
  • Let him define recovery in your life.
  • 00:41:39.060 --> 00:41:41.170
  • I don't know what it is, but I'm enjoying it, hallelujah.
  • 00:41:41.180 --> 00:41:45.110
  • Stand to your feet with me please.
  • 00:41:45.120 --> 00:41:48.240
  • Close your eyes. Lift your hands towards heaven.
  • 00:41:53.060 --> 00:41:56.230
  • You've been beat up. You've been knocked down.
  • 00:42:00.250 --> 00:42:02.210
  • Just right where you are, I just want you to begin to say out of
  • 00:42:02.220 --> 00:42:05.070
  • your mouth, "Right here, right now, I choose to be recovered."
  • 00:42:05.080 --> 00:42:14.190
  • Right here, right now, I choose to be recovered.
  • 00:42:15.070 --> 00:42:22.280
  • Not gonna get better, am better.
  • 00:42:22.290 --> 00:42:26.200
  • I choose, right here, right now, to be recovered.
  • 00:42:26.210 --> 00:42:33.180
  • One more time real loud.
  • 00:42:33.190 --> 00:42:35.040
  • Right here, right now, I choose to be recovered.
  • 00:42:35.050 --> 00:42:42.210
  • This is my independence day. I choose to be recovered.
  • 00:42:42.220 --> 00:42:51.170
  • God bless you. I love you.
  • 00:42:51.180 --> 00:42:53.150
  • Thank you.
  • 00:42:53.160 --> 00:42:56.180
  • announcer: Coming up next, inspirational worship
  • 00:42:57.040 --> 00:42:59.030
  • with our Hillsong worship team.
  • 00:42:59.040 --> 00:43:01.130
  • All creation
  • 00:43:01.140 --> 00:43:04.160
  • welcome home
  • 00:43:04.170 --> 00:43:07.030
  • This hope is ours, your kingdom come
  • 00:43:07.040 --> 00:43:14.140
  • 00:43:14.170 --> 00:43:16.160
  • We trust that today's message has impacted your life and that
  • 00:43:21.030 --> 00:43:24.010
  • God has placed something significant in your heart.
  • 00:43:24.020 --> 00:43:27.240
  • We would love the opportunity to host you at one
  • 00:43:27.250 --> 00:43:30.050
  • of our Hillsong Conferences around the globe.
  • 00:43:30.060 --> 00:43:33.100
  • Our hope and prayer is that you, your family, and your team will
  • 00:43:33.110 --> 00:43:36.280
  • gather with us, and that together we will continue to
  • 00:43:36.290 --> 00:43:39.240
  • move forward in strength, anointing, and grace.
  • 00:43:39.250 --> 00:43:44.140
  • Sayaka: I grew up in a city called Yokohama, Japan.
  • 00:43:47.080 --> 00:43:51.260
  • I come from a complete non-Christian home, yeah.
  • 00:43:51.270 --> 00:43:55.220
  • Like, in Japan, more than 99% of the population is non-Christian.
  • 00:43:55.230 --> 00:44:00.220
  • So, I've been praying for my dad for 21 years.
  • 00:44:00.230 --> 00:44:06.100
  • Both my mom and dad were turning 70, and my sister was on
  • 00:44:07.230 --> 00:44:12.170
  • maternity leave last year, so we said, "Why don't we all meet up
  • 00:44:12.180 --> 00:44:16.240
  • in Sydney and celebrate together?"
  • 00:44:16.250 --> 00:44:19.210
  • It happens to be July, and I think it was an accident.
  • 00:44:19.220 --> 00:44:25.120
  • I didn't really tell them that, "You're coming to Conference
  • 00:44:25.130 --> 00:44:29.100
  • with me," but back in my mind, I knew that they would be coming.
  • 00:44:29.110 --> 00:44:34.120
  • We've been to every single Conference since we've been
  • 00:44:34.130 --> 00:44:38.140
  • here, so this is like our 15th, and we've always been part
  • 00:44:38.150 --> 00:44:43.190
  • of the interpretations team.
  • 00:44:43.200 --> 00:44:45.280
  • We interpret, you know, the messages into Japanese.
  • 00:44:45.290 --> 00:44:50.180
  • And on the first night, my husband was on the roster
  • 00:44:50.190 --> 00:44:55.100
  • to interpret Pastor Brian.
  • 00:44:55.110 --> 00:44:58.230
  • My mom and sister had been saved 8 years ago here at Hillsong,
  • 00:45:00.110 --> 00:45:05.210
  • and my dad was the only person in my family, immediate family,
  • 00:45:05.220 --> 00:45:10.030
  • who wasn't saved.
  • 00:45:10.040 --> 00:45:11.200
  • So, I know back of my husband's mind,
  • 00:45:11.210 --> 00:45:13.060
  • he was speaking directly to my dad.
  • 00:45:13.070 --> 00:45:16.170
  • Brian Houston: And that's why I'm gonna believe today
  • 00:45:16.180 --> 00:45:18.080
  • for people to make that choice.
  • 00:45:18.090 --> 00:45:19.270
  • Today is a new beginning. Today is a new chapter.
  • 00:45:19.280 --> 00:45:23.010
  • [speaking foreign language]
  • 00:45:23.020 --> 00:45:32.210
  • Brian: Every person in prayer.
  • 00:45:32.220 --> 00:45:34.160
  • I want everybody to be thinking about
  • 00:45:34.170 --> 00:45:36.100
  • where you stand spiritually.
  • 00:45:36.110 --> 00:45:39.270
  • Sayaka: We didn't see what was happening, but we later
  • 00:45:39.280 --> 00:45:42.190
  • heard after the service from friends who were sitting next
  • 00:45:42.200 --> 00:45:46.050
  • to my dad, "Your dad actually put his hand up,"
  • 00:45:46.060 --> 00:45:49.250
  • and we were like, "What?"
  • 00:45:49.260 --> 00:45:52.200
  • Brian: If you say, "Brian, include me in that prayer,"
  • 00:45:52.210 --> 00:45:55.080
  • I want you to lift your hand in the air.
  • 00:45:55.090 --> 00:45:56.190
  • Here we go. Here we go.
  • 00:45:56.200 --> 00:45:59.190
  • [speaking foreign language]
  • 00:45:59.200 --> 00:46:04.220
  • Sayaka: Acts 16:31 says, "Believe in Jesus Christ
  • 00:46:08.080 --> 00:46:11.180
  • and you and your family will be saved," so of course
  • 00:46:11.190 --> 00:46:14.070
  • I was believing for that.
  • 00:46:14.080 --> 00:46:15.280
  • That's why I brought them there, you know?
  • 00:46:15.290 --> 00:46:17.130
  • So, but when it happens, you're, like, speechless.
  • 00:46:17.140 --> 00:46:24.020
  • Take people who mean a lot to you along, because they need
  • 00:46:24.250 --> 00:46:31.050
  • to see what you see and they need to be there.
  • 00:46:31.060 --> 00:46:35.270
  • Jad Gillies: Come on now.
  • 00:46:40.120 --> 00:46:42.130
  • 00:46:42.140 --> 00:46:43.270
  • The stone the builders rejected
  • 00:46:43.280 --> 00:46:48.110
  • laid to ransom a fractured bride
  • 00:46:50.070 --> 00:46:56.040
  • A crushing weight on your shoulders
  • 00:46:56.050 --> 00:47:01.060
  • you stand forever with arms stretched wide
  • 00:47:02.090 --> 00:47:08.140
  • Your name, my hope
  • 00:47:08.150 --> 00:47:15.070
  • fortress in the raging storm
  • 00:47:15.080 --> 00:47:20.190
  • My heart is your home
  • 00:47:20.200 --> 00:47:27.210
  • Jesus, let your love take hold
  • 00:47:27.220 --> 00:47:33.000
  • Your name, my hope
  • 00:47:33.010 --> 00:47:39.270
  • fortress in the raging storm
  • 00:47:39.280 --> 00:47:45.060
  • My heart is your home
  • 00:47:45.070 --> 00:47:52.040
  • Jesus, let your love take hold
  • 00:47:52.050 --> 00:48:00.050
  • Oh, Jesus
  • 00:48:04.040 --> 00:48:06.140
  • Jesus, yeah
  • 00:48:06.150 --> 00:48:11.170
  • 00:48:11.180 --> 00:48:19.150
  • For your name, heart and soul
  • 00:48:19.160 --> 00:48:24.260
  • My life is yours, a living stone
  • 00:48:24.270 --> 00:48:30.060
  • Jad: Come on now.
  • 00:48:30.070 --> 00:48:31.160
  • For your glory, heart and soul
  • 00:48:31.170 --> 00:48:36.260
  • Surrendered all to build a home
  • 00:48:36.270 --> 00:48:44.000
  • For your name, heart and soul
  • 00:48:44.010 --> 00:48:49.090
  • My life is yours, a living stone
  • 00:48:49.100 --> 00:48:56.020
  • For your glory, heart and soul
  • 00:48:56.030 --> 00:49:01.180
  • Surrendered all to build a home
  • 00:49:01.190 --> 00:49:07.020
  • Jad: Your name.
  • 00:49:07.030 --> 00:49:08.250
  • Your name, my sure foundation
  • 00:49:08.260 --> 00:49:13.260
  • The hope of glory for one and all
  • 00:49:13.270 --> 00:49:20.200
  • Your love endures forever
  • 00:49:20.210 --> 00:49:26.100
  • a holy mountain that will not fall
  • 00:49:26.110 --> 00:49:33.130
  • All the earth, welcome home
  • 00:49:33.140 --> 00:49:38.180
  • In every heart, your will be done
  • 00:49:38.190 --> 00:49:45.120
  • All creation, welcome home
  • 00:49:45.130 --> 00:49:50.250
  • This hope is ours, your kingdom come
  • 00:49:50.260 --> 00:49:57.220
  • All the earth, welcome home
  • 00:49:57.230 --> 00:50:03.030
  • In every heart, your will be done
  • 00:50:03.040 --> 00:50:10.000
  • All creation, welcome home
  • 00:50:10.010 --> 00:50:15.190
  • This hope is ours, your kingdom come
  • 00:50:15.200 --> 00:50:23.170
  • 00:50:23.180 --> 00:50:33.010
  • Yeah!
  • 00:50:33.020 --> 00:50:39.150
  • 00:50:39.160 --> 00:50:43.290
  • Jad: We cry holy.
  • 00:50:44.000 --> 00:50:46.100
  • We cry holy, holy, holy
  • 00:50:46.110 --> 00:50:52.200
  • We cry holy is your name
  • 00:50:52.210 --> 00:50:58.240
  • We cry holy, holy, holy
  • 00:50:58.250 --> 00:51:05.020
  • We cry holy is your name
  • 00:51:05.030 --> 00:51:11.010
  • We cry holy, holy, holy
  • 00:51:11.020 --> 00:51:17.060
  • We cry holy is your name
  • 00:51:17.070 --> 00:51:23.110
  • We cry holy, holy, holy
  • 00:51:23.120 --> 00:51:29.120
  • We cry holy is your name
  • 00:51:29.130 --> 00:51:37.000
