  • so let's vow to make it a better place.
  • 00:01:07.130 --> 00:01:12.170
  • Let every heart that needs to know
  • 00:01:12.180 --> 00:01:17.180
  • that love is here to stay.
  • 00:01:17.190 --> 00:01:20.070
  • Oh, it's time to live a new life.
  • 00:01:20.080 --> 00:01:23.290
  • Oh, let this love shine bright in you.
  • 00:01:24.000 --> 00:01:28.080
  • Oh, we're saved by his grace,
  • 00:01:28.090 --> 00:01:31.090
  • so we embrace your love today.
  • 00:01:31.100 --> 00:01:34.250
  • We are changed.
  • 00:01:34.260 --> 00:01:37.060
  • Creflo: If you have your Bibles,
  • 00:01:40.010 --> 00:01:41.110
  • go with me to the book of Saint John chapter 1 and verse 17.
  • 00:01:41.120 --> 00:01:47.260
  • Saint John chapter 1, verse 17.
  • 00:01:47.270 --> 00:01:50.080
  • We've been talking about "The Contrast."
  • 00:01:50.090 --> 00:01:52.080
  • And tonight we're going to a contrast between the difference
  • 00:01:52.090 --> 00:01:55.190
  • between law-based prayers versus grace-based prayers.
  • 00:01:55.200 --> 00:02:02.030
  • So we're gonna spend tonight and this weekend,
  • 00:02:02.040 --> 00:02:06.240
  • we're gonna talk about prayer and just how powerful it is and
  • 00:02:06.250 --> 00:02:10.290
  • one of the things I'm definitely gonna deal with is does God hear
  • 00:02:11.000 --> 00:02:14.010
  • the sinner, you know?
  • 00:02:14.020 --> 00:02:15.190
  • There's so much stuff going on with that but not if you know
  • 00:02:15.200 --> 00:02:18.240
  • the nature of God.
  • 00:02:18.250 --> 00:02:20.100
  • I can almost guarantee you know how to answer that based on
  • 00:02:20.110 --> 00:02:23.280
  • the nature of God.
  • 00:02:23.290 --> 00:02:25.090
  • But we're gonna look at the Scriptures that people use and
  • 00:02:25.100 --> 00:02:27.180
  • show you some things so this is gonna be really interesting.
  • 00:02:27.190 --> 00:02:30.080
  • I hope it stirs your life up, your prayer life up,
  • 00:02:30.090 --> 00:02:33.290
  • and you really see what you got going on here.
  • 00:02:34.000 --> 00:02:36.130
  • So let's begin with Saint John 1:17.
  • 00:02:36.140 --> 00:02:41.250
  • Let's read it out loud together.
  • 00:02:41.260 --> 00:02:43.050
  • Ready? Read.
  • 00:02:43.060 --> 00:02:44.240
  • "For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came
  • 00:02:44.250 --> 00:02:49.230
  • by Jesus Christ."
  • 00:02:49.240 --> 00:02:52.020
  • And so we've been making the contrast between the law by
  • 00:02:52.030 --> 00:02:55.240
  • Moses versus the grace by Jesus Christ.
  • 00:02:55.250 --> 00:03:01.180
  • What was true under the law by Moses may not be the same truth
  • 00:03:01.190 --> 00:03:08.050
  • under the grace that came by Jesus.
  • 00:03:08.060 --> 00:03:11.240
  • And so we've got to compare and contrast not just the law that
  • 00:03:11.250 --> 00:03:19.130
  • came by Moses versus the grace that came by Jesus Christ but
  • 00:03:19.140 --> 00:03:22.120
  • there's a lot of contrasts.
  • 00:03:22.130 --> 00:03:24.260
  • Contrasts between servanthood versus sonship,
  • 00:03:24.270 --> 00:03:27.240
  • contrasts between, you know, spirit and flesh.
  • 00:03:27.250 --> 00:03:33.000
  • Contrasts between, you know, all the things that happened before
  • 00:03:33.010 --> 00:03:37.130
  • the cross versus the thing that happened after the cross,
  • 00:03:37.140 --> 00:03:40.120
  • the requirements of salvation, the requirements
  • 00:03:40.130 --> 00:03:44.200
  • of the blessings.
  • 00:03:44.210 --> 00:03:46.030
  • Those things have to be taught in contrast so you can see what
  • 00:03:46.040 --> 00:03:50.090
  • was the truth under the law and now what is the truth under the
  • 00:03:50.100 --> 00:03:54.010
  • grace of God.
  • 00:03:54.020 --> 00:03:55.110
  • Now here's one thing we do know.
  • 00:03:55.120 --> 00:03:56.260
  • Romans chapter 6:14, for we're now longer--we're no longer
  • 00:03:56.270 --> 00:04:00.030
  • under the law.
  • 00:04:00.040 --> 00:04:01.260
  • Sin has no dominion over you. Why?
  • 00:04:01.270 --> 00:04:05.070
  • Because you're not under the law but you're under what?
  • 00:04:05.080 --> 00:04:07.260
  • Under grace.
  • 00:04:07.270 --> 00:04:09.060
  • So one thing we do know is that God has called us to live life
  • 00:04:09.070 --> 00:04:12.110
  • under the grace that came by Jesus Christ.
  • 00:04:12.120 --> 00:04:15.110
  • Under the law it was about how well you performed to deserve
  • 00:04:15.120 --> 00:04:19.150
  • what you'd get from God.
  • 00:04:19.160 --> 00:04:22.140
  • Under grace it was all about what Jesus has already done and
  • 00:04:22.150 --> 00:04:25.110
  • you believing and having faith in the finished works
  • 00:04:25.120 --> 00:04:28.170
  • of Jesus Christ.
  • 00:04:28.180 --> 00:04:30.040
  • Now, let's begin this contrast between the law-based prayers or
  • 00:04:30.050 --> 00:04:34.090
  • law-based praying versus grace-based praying.
  • 00:04:34.100 --> 00:04:39.220
  • And I wanna start off with--I mean,
  • 00:04:39.230 --> 00:04:41.230
  • we might as well just hop right in it.
  • 00:04:41.240 --> 00:04:43.180
  • What was praying like before the cross?
  • 00:04:43.190 --> 00:04:45.130
  • What was true about praying before Jesus went to the cross
  • 00:04:45.140 --> 00:04:49.200
  • and shared his blood?
  • 00:04:49.210 --> 00:04:52.200
  • Now, 2 Corinthians--excuse me, 2 Chronicles,
  • 00:04:52.210 --> 00:04:55.290
  • if you will, chapter 7 and verse 13 and 14.
  • 00:04:56.000 --> 00:05:00.120
  • 2 Chronicles, chapter 7 and verse 13 and 14.
  • 00:05:00.130 --> 00:05:07.070
  • Now, as we look at this and we challenge ourselves with what we
  • 00:05:07.080 --> 00:05:10.280
  • see, now you're really gonna have to hang on to what you know
  • 00:05:10.290 --> 00:05:14.290
  • about this, all right?
  • 00:05:15.000 --> 00:05:16.150
  • 2 Chronicles chapter 7, verse 13,
  • 00:05:16.160 --> 00:05:19.010
  • he says, "If I shut up heaven that there be no rain,
  • 00:05:19.020 --> 00:05:23.160
  • or if I command the locusts to devour the land,
  • 00:05:23.170 --> 00:05:26.200
  • or if I send pestilence among my people," verse 14,
  • 00:05:26.210 --> 00:05:31.180
  • here's what you're familiar with: "If my people,
  • 00:05:31.190 --> 00:05:34.240
  • which are called by my name, shall humble themselves,
  • 00:05:34.250 --> 00:05:39.000
  • and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways;
  • 00:05:39.010 --> 00:05:44.110
  • then will I hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sins,
  • 00:05:44.120 --> 00:05:48.160
  • and will heal their land."
  • 00:05:48.170 --> 00:05:51.020
  • How many of you have ever heard that mentioned before,
  • 00:05:51.030 --> 00:05:53.090
  • as a Christian?
  • 00:05:53.100 --> 00:05:54.260
  • I am identifying to you this--tonight,
  • 00:05:54.270 --> 00:05:56.270
  • that that is a law-based prayer.
  • 00:05:56.280 --> 00:05:59.070
  • Look at what it says.
  • 00:05:59.080 --> 00:06:01.000
  • That is not a--that is not a prayer based in the
  • 00:06:01.010 --> 00:06:04.180
  • grace of God.
  • 00:06:04.190 --> 00:06:05.290
  • There's a lot of things that this thing is talking about
  • 00:06:06.000 --> 00:06:07.220
  • praying that Jesus has already done, all right?
  • 00:06:07.230 --> 00:06:10.130
  • For example, "My people, which are called by my name,
  • 00:06:10.140 --> 00:06:12.090
  • if they shall humble themselves, and pray,
  • 00:06:12.100 --> 00:06:14.160
  • and seek my face, turn from their wicked ways," all right,
  • 00:06:14.170 --> 00:06:17.130
  • now watch this.
  • 00:06:17.140 --> 00:06:18.230
  • He says, "I'm gonna hear from heaven."
  • 00:06:18.240 --> 00:06:20.030
  • The whole thing is if you first, then he will second.
  • 00:06:20.040 --> 00:06:24.020
  • So that's a problem.
  • 00:06:24.030 --> 00:06:25.150
  • That is a pattern based under the law that came by Moses.
  • 00:06:25.160 --> 00:06:29.240
  • The law that came by Moses is a performance-based covenant.
  • 00:06:29.250 --> 00:06:35.140
  • It was a--it is a conditional covenant.
  • 00:06:35.150 --> 00:06:39.020
  • This is conditional. This is a conditional prayer.
  • 00:06:39.030 --> 00:06:41.160
  • This prayer says: "If you do these things,
  • 00:06:41.170 --> 00:06:43.150
  • then God will do these things."
  • 00:06:43.160 --> 00:06:45.250
  • This is a conditional prayer.
  • 00:06:45.260 --> 00:06:47.090
  • Under the grace of God, it's all--it's
  • 00:06:47.100 --> 00:06:49.170
  • unconditional, all right?
  • 00:06:49.180 --> 00:06:51.050
  • Now, I'll show you some things here.
  • 00:06:51.060 --> 00:06:52.180
  • Authority's mixed in with it but now look at this.
  • 00:06:52.190 --> 00:06:54.110
  • "Then will I hear from heaven," and do what?
  • 00:06:54.120 --> 00:06:57.010
  • "And I'll forgive their sins."
  • 00:06:57.020 --> 00:06:59.090
  • Well, he forgave our sins already.
  • 00:06:59.100 --> 00:07:00.240
  • He did it when he was on the cross 2000 years ago and his
  • 00:07:00.250 --> 00:07:04.110
  • forgiveness of our sins was not based in what you did.
  • 00:07:04.120 --> 00:07:10.080
  • Jesus forgave your sins.
  • 00:07:10.090 --> 00:07:12.230
  • If you didn't do any of what he said at the beginning of this
  • 00:07:12.240 --> 00:07:16.050
  • verse, this--now this is true under the law of Moses.
  • 00:07:16.060 --> 00:07:22.050
  • This was a requirement under the law that came by Moses but for
  • 00:07:22.060 --> 00:07:25.160
  • us today, we recognize that Jesus forgave our sins 2000
  • 00:07:25.170 --> 00:07:30.210
  • years ago, past, present, and future.
  • 00:07:30.220 --> 00:07:33.120
  • For you to pray and make it conditional by saying,
  • 00:07:33.130 --> 00:07:39.030
  • "Lord, I, you know, I gotta do these things first so you'll
  • 00:07:39.040 --> 00:07:41.230
  • forgive me of my sins," that's just--that's not the grace
  • 00:07:41.240 --> 00:07:44.290
  • of--that's not grace-based praying.
  • 00:07:45.000 --> 00:07:47.270
  • First of all, you ask--first of all,
  • 00:07:47.280 --> 00:07:49.220
  • you're praying and asking God to do something he's already done.
  • 00:07:49.230 --> 00:07:53.140
  • Remember I told you there are two prayers he'll never answer.
  • 00:07:53.150 --> 00:07:55.200
  • Number one, he will never answer prayer where you're asking him
  • 00:07:55.210 --> 00:07:59.020
  • to do something that he's already done.
  • 00:07:59.030 --> 00:08:02.040
  • Number two, he will never answer a prayer when you are asking him
  • 00:08:02.050 --> 00:08:05.270
  • to do what he told you to do, all right?
  • 00:08:05.280 --> 00:08:09.190
  • All right, now watch this.
  • 00:08:09.200 --> 00:08:10.290
  • He says, "I'll forgive their sins, and
  • 00:08:11.000 --> 00:08:13.110
  • I'll heal their land."
  • 00:08:13.120 --> 00:08:15.210
  • He's already done that.
  • 00:08:15.220 --> 00:08:17.040
  • The lands--healing has already been released.
  • 00:08:17.050 --> 00:08:21.040
  • Now, healing has already been made available.
  • 00:08:21.050 --> 00:08:25.130
  • It's up for this nation to receive the healing that's
  • 00:08:25.140 --> 00:08:29.040
  • already been made available.
  • 00:08:29.050 --> 00:08:30.230
  • The chaos in our land or anybody else's land,
  • 00:08:30.240 --> 00:08:33.200
  • you know, I often hear people say,
  • 00:08:33.210 --> 00:08:36.130
  • "Well, if God doesn't judge America then he owes
  • 00:08:36.140 --> 00:08:46.000
  • Sodom and Gomorrah an apology."
  • 00:08:46.010 --> 00:08:49.210
  • No, no. Why?
  • 00:08:49.220 --> 00:08:53.110
  • He's already judged everything.
  • 00:08:53.120 --> 00:08:56.040
  • You gotta understand, he's already judged everything.
  • 00:08:56.050 --> 00:08:57.290
  • And under the covenant of grace, you receive what's
  • 00:08:58.000 --> 00:09:01.150
  • already been done.
  • 00:09:01.160 --> 00:09:03.010
  • You're asking God to do something he's already done.
  • 00:09:03.020 --> 00:09:05.290
  • Healing has not only been made available for all of us as
  • 00:09:06.000 --> 00:09:09.190
  • individuals but healing has already been
  • 00:09:09.200 --> 00:09:12.130
  • made available for the land.
  • 00:09:12.140 --> 00:09:14.140
  • He ain't coming back to do something he's already done.
  • 00:09:14.150 --> 00:09:19.010
  • This prayer is basically asking him to do what
  • 00:09:19.020 --> 00:09:22.080
  • he's already done.
  • 00:09:22.090 --> 00:09:23.240
  • For you as New Testament saints to pray that prayer today is
  • 00:09:23.250 --> 00:09:26.110
  • for you to fall back to the law thinking that "if my people,"
  • 00:09:26.120 --> 00:09:32.160
  • you meet the condition, then God will do that--uh-uh.
  • 00:09:32.170 --> 00:09:35.290
  • No, God's already done that and now we need to believe by faith
  • 00:09:36.000 --> 00:09:40.080
  • in the finished works of Jesus Christ.
  • 00:09:40.090 --> 00:09:43.170
  • This is how they prayed before the cross.
  • 00:09:43.180 --> 00:09:46.140
  • This is a law-based prayer, wow, amen.
  • 00:09:46.150 --> 00:09:56.120
  • Oh, man, should I say this, Lord?
  • 00:09:56.130 --> 00:10:00.230
  • So is the Lord's Prayer.
  • 00:10:00.240 --> 00:10:05.090
  • "Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
  • 00:10:05.100 --> 00:10:09.130
  • Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it
  • 00:10:09.140 --> 00:10:11.250
  • is in heaven.
  • 00:10:11.260 --> 00:10:13.200
  • Forgive us this day our daily bread,
  • 00:10:13.210 --> 00:10:15.000
  • forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass
  • 00:10:15.010 --> 00:10:17.170
  • against us.
  • 00:10:17.180 --> 00:10:18.270
  • Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
  • 00:10:18.280 --> 00:10:22.130
  • Thine is the kingdom, power."
  • 00:10:22.140 --> 00:10:24.230
  • That is a law-based prayer that Jesus gave,
  • 00:10:24.240 --> 00:10:31.150
  • actually it was an outline, to his disciples when he asked
  • 00:10:31.160 --> 00:10:34.100
  • them, "Lord, how should we pray?"
  • 00:10:34.110 --> 00:10:38.020
  • And we came years ago and me included and took the Lord's
  • 00:10:38.030 --> 00:10:41.260
  • Prayer and tried to teach it and make it a New Testament prayer.
  • 00:10:41.270 --> 00:10:45.290
  • It is not.
  • 00:10:46.000 --> 00:10:53.000
  • And you can say it before every basketball game,
  • 00:10:53.010 --> 00:10:54.250
  • every football game, and every special event.
  • 00:10:54.260 --> 00:11:02.020
  • I used to do it at funerals.
  • 00:11:02.030 --> 00:11:04.040
  • "Everybody bow your heads and repeat the Lord's Prayer."
  • 00:11:04.050 --> 00:11:06.070
  • I don't do that anymore.
  • 00:11:06.080 --> 00:11:08.070
  • In fact, I'm trying to rewrite everything.
  • 00:11:08.080 --> 00:11:10.210
  • We just released a new wedding ceremony.
  • 00:11:10.220 --> 00:11:14.020
  • We're doing--releasing new funeral stuff.
  • 00:11:14.030 --> 00:11:18.060
  • I just--I don't even hardly care about--'cause I just--I
  • 00:11:18.070 --> 00:11:20.230
  • ain't--I'm not doing that, all right?
  • 00:11:20.240 --> 00:11:26.010
  • Now, so it's a law-based prayer and I'm sure people online are
  • 00:11:26.020 --> 00:11:29.200
  • freaking out, like...
  • 00:11:29.210 --> 00:11:32.020
  • just hang on in here, honey. It's gonna be a great time.
  • 00:11:32.030 --> 00:11:35.270
  • Now, look at this, Ezekiel 22 and 30.
  • 00:11:35.280 --> 00:11:40.020
  • Look at this.
  • 00:11:40.030 --> 00:11:41.150
  • This is before the cross as well.
  • 00:11:41.160 --> 00:11:43.000
  • Now, remember 2 Corinthians that--2 Chronicles 7:14,
  • 00:11:43.010 --> 00:11:46.290
  • that is a "before the cross" prayer.
  • 00:11:47.000 --> 00:11:49.200
  • That was before Jesus died, shed his blood.
  • 00:11:49.210 --> 00:11:51.250
  • Here's something else that happened before the cross.
  • 00:11:51.260 --> 00:11:54.190
  • Look what he says: "And I sought for a man among them,
  • 00:11:54.200 --> 00:11:57.030
  • that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me
  • 00:11:57.040 --> 00:12:04.050
  • for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none."
  • 00:12:04.060 --> 00:12:10.090
  • So right here, before the cross, notice he was saying,
  • 00:12:10.100 --> 00:12:14.100
  • "We were looking for somebody to stand in the gap."
  • 00:12:14.110 --> 00:12:16.110
  • And now, y'all know, going to church,
  • 00:12:16.120 --> 00:12:19.080
  • that you've heard good old Christian people saying,
  • 00:12:19.090 --> 00:12:22.180
  • "Well, let's stand in the gap.
  • 00:12:22.190 --> 00:12:24.030
  • Tonight, we're gonna stand in the gap."
  • 00:12:24.040 --> 00:12:27.280
  • All right, there are two things wrong.
  • 00:12:27.290 --> 00:12:29.090
  • When he needed somebody to stand in the gap,
  • 00:12:29.100 --> 00:12:30.240
  • he couldn't find nobody.
  • 00:12:30.250 --> 00:12:32.280
  • Now everybody wanna stand in the gap.
  • 00:12:32.290 --> 00:12:35.290
  • But there ain't no gap no more because Jesus now--Jesus is now
  • 00:12:36.000 --> 00:12:42.110
  • the one that stands in the gap so don't be praying no prayers
  • 00:12:42.120 --> 00:12:44.150
  • where y'all looking, "Lord, we decided we
  • 00:12:44.160 --> 00:12:46.230
  • gonna stand in the gap.
  • 00:12:46.240 --> 00:12:48.030
  • We here, praying for such and such and so,
  • 00:12:48.040 --> 00:12:50.080
  • standing in the gap."
  • 00:12:50.090 --> 00:12:51.180
  • That is old covenant, law-based, before-the-cross praying.
  • 00:12:51.190 --> 00:12:59.010
  • Don't do it.
  • 00:12:59.020 --> 00:13:02.180
  • Standing in the gap was something similar.
  • 00:13:02.190 --> 00:13:04.260
  • It was a mediator. There was no mediator.
  • 00:13:04.270 --> 00:13:07.270
  • Let me show you something that was just really good to know
  • 00:13:07.280 --> 00:13:10.240
  • as a Christian.
  • 00:13:10.250 --> 00:13:13.000
  • There was, in the book of Job chapter 9 and verse 32 and 33,
  • 00:13:13.010 --> 00:13:19.030
  • there was a phrase that was used and,
  • 00:13:19.040 --> 00:13:21.210
  • you know, these people were frustrated because they was,
  • 00:13:21.220 --> 00:13:24.230
  • like, "Man, if we had somebody that could stand between us and
  • 00:13:24.240 --> 00:13:27.200
  • God, then maybe they could speak God's Word to us,
  • 00:13:27.210 --> 00:13:31.070
  • lay hands on us, but we have nobody to stand before
  • 00:13:31.080 --> 00:13:33.120
  • us and God."
  • 00:13:33.130 --> 00:13:35.020
  • And Job referred to this mediator as a daysman.
  • 00:13:35.030 --> 00:13:39.060
  • Look at this in verse 32 and 33: "For he is not a man,
  • 00:13:39.070 --> 00:13:43.230
  • as I am, that I should answer him,
  • 00:13:43.240 --> 00:13:47.030
  • and we should come together in judgment."
  • 00:13:47.040 --> 00:13:48.280
  • Verse 33: "Neither is there any daysman."
  • 00:13:48.290 --> 00:13:53.180
  • Now, translated, that word: "mediator."
  • 00:13:53.190 --> 00:13:56.070
  • "Neither was--is there any daysman between us,
  • 00:13:56.080 --> 00:14:01.290
  • that might lay his hand upon us both."
  • 00:14:02.000 --> 00:14:06.160
  • So he says before the cross there was no mediator between
  • 00:14:06.170 --> 00:14:10.010
  • God and man and they used the term "daysman" or no mediator
  • 00:14:10.020 --> 00:14:15.020
  • between God and man.
  • 00:14:15.030 --> 00:14:17.160
  • So before the cross, there was no mediator but was it
  • 00:14:17.170 --> 00:14:21.190
  • always like that?
  • 00:14:21.200 --> 00:14:23.210
  • Well, no.
  • 00:14:23.220 --> 00:14:27.060
  • Look at what he says here in 1 Timothy chapter 2:15.
  • 00:14:27.070 --> 00:14:32.100
  • I'm gonna show you four Scriptures 'cause I never want
  • 00:14:32.110 --> 00:14:34.060
  • this to be a question.
  • 00:14:34.070 --> 00:14:35.240
  • 1 Timothy 2:15.
  • 00:14:35.250 --> 00:14:37.210
  • No, let's look at 1 Timothy 2:5, Hebrews 9:15,
  • 00:14:37.220 --> 00:14:41.210
  • excuse me, and then John 14 and 6,
  • 00:14:41.220 --> 00:14:43.280
  • and then Hebrews 8 and 6.
  • 00:14:43.290 --> 00:14:47.030
  • All right, 1 Timothy 2 and 5, he says,
  • 00:14:47.040 --> 00:14:49.140
  • "For there is one God, and," how many?
  • 00:14:49.150 --> 00:14:52.050
  • "One mediator between God and men,
  • 00:14:52.060 --> 00:14:56.040
  • the man Christ Jesus."
  • 00:14:56.050 --> 00:14:58.090
  • How many of you know after the cross Jesus is in the gap?
  • 00:14:58.100 --> 00:15:03.200
  • I said Jesus is in the gap.
  • 00:15:03.210 --> 00:15:06.050
  • Jesus is our mediator that stands between God and man.
  • 00:15:06.060 --> 00:15:10.140
  • Look at Hebrews chapter 9 and 15.
  • 00:15:10.150 --> 00:15:12.180
  • Jesus is the mediator that stands between God and men.
  • 00:15:12.190 --> 00:15:18.000
  • Now, this is so very, very important and Hebrews 9:15,
  • 00:15:18.010 --> 00:15:21.090
  • check this out: "And for this cause he is the mediator of the
  • 00:15:21.100 --> 00:15:25.200
  • New Testament."
  • 00:15:25.210 --> 00:15:28.010
  • So there's our mediator between God and men in this
  • 00:15:28.020 --> 00:15:31.010
  • New Testament, "that by means of death,
  • 00:15:31.020 --> 00:15:32.260
  • for the redemption of the transgressions that were under
  • 00:15:32.270 --> 00:15:36.080
  • the first testament," the first testament being the law,
  • 00:15:36.090 --> 00:15:39.040
  • "they which are called might receive the promise
  • 00:15:39.050 --> 00:15:43.010
  • of eternal inheritance."
  • 00:15:43.020 --> 00:15:44.110
  • So we see Jesus as the mediator or the daysman that stands
  • 00:15:44.120 --> 00:15:47.280
  • between God and man.
  • 00:15:47.290 --> 00:15:50.180
  • He's the mediator of the New Testament.
  • 00:15:50.190 --> 00:15:53.170
  • Look at John 14 and 16.
  • 00:15:53.180 --> 00:15:56.250
  • John 14 and 16.
  • 00:15:56.260 --> 00:15:59.120
  • If you'll start noticing in traditional churches,
  • 00:15:59.130 --> 00:16:01.230
  • you hear all of this stuff and you think,
  • 00:16:01.240 --> 00:16:03.220
  • "Where did that come from?"
  • 00:16:03.230 --> 00:16:06.130
  • And most likely, it came from before the cross-type
  • 00:16:06.140 --> 00:16:09.230
  • of praying.
  • 00:16:09.240 --> 00:16:11.150
  • John 14 and 6, I apologize.
  • 00:16:11.160 --> 00:16:14.110
  • John 14 and 6, and he says here, he says,
  • 00:16:14.120 --> 00:16:18.130
  • "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way,
  • 00:16:18.140 --> 00:16:20.180
  • the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father,
  • 00:16:20.190 --> 00:16:26.040
  • but by me," the mediator.
  • 00:16:26.050 --> 00:16:29.010
  • That's awesome.
  • 00:16:29.020 --> 00:16:30.200
  • There is no other religious personality that can say
  • 00:16:30.210 --> 00:16:34.260
  • what was just said here.
  • 00:16:34.270 --> 00:16:37.140
  • No man can come to the Father except by me,
  • 00:16:37.150 --> 00:16:41.020
  • Jesus, not by Buddha, not by Muhammad.
  • 00:16:41.030 --> 00:16:46.190
  • Jesus is the only one.
  • 00:16:46.200 --> 00:16:48.060
  • "Well, what makes you think Jesus is the--"
  • 00:16:48.070 --> 00:16:49.160
  • 'Cause he's the only one--the only way to the Father.
  • 00:16:49.170 --> 00:16:53.190
  • He's the only way to the Father.
  • 00:16:53.200 --> 00:16:56.150
  • If you gonna get to God you've got to go through Jesus.
  • 00:16:56.160 --> 00:17:01.020
  • Ho-ho-ho-ho, hallelujah.
  • 00:17:01.030 --> 00:17:03.050
  • Muhammad don't even have the directions.
  • 00:17:03.060 --> 00:17:06.280
  • Buddha don't even know if it's north, south, east or west.
  • 00:17:06.290 --> 00:17:10.280
  • But Jesus said, "If you gonna get him, I am the mediator.
  • 00:17:10.290 --> 00:17:14.210
  • I am your daysman.
  • 00:17:14.220 --> 00:17:17.140
  • I stand between God and you."
  • 00:17:17.150 --> 00:17:21.030
  • Boy, that's exciting to me.
  • 00:17:21.040 --> 00:17:22.130
  • And then one more: Hebrews 8 and 6.
  • 00:17:22.140 --> 00:17:24.070
  • Hebrews 8 and 6, I stand between God and man.
  • 00:17:24.080 --> 00:17:29.110
  • I have filled the gap.
  • 00:17:29.120 --> 00:17:32.290
  • Hebrews 8 and 6: "But now hath he obtained a more excellent
  • 00:17:33.000 --> 00:17:37.020
  • ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better
  • 00:17:37.030 --> 00:17:44.010
  • covenant, which was established upon better promises."
  • 00:17:44.020 --> 00:17:49.240
  • So Jesus now is the mediator not only between God and man,
  • 00:17:49.250 --> 00:17:54.190
  • glory be to God, but he stands between that old covenant
  • 00:17:54.200 --> 00:17:58.150
  • and the new one.
  • 00:17:58.160 --> 00:18:01.090
  • I like this.
  • 00:18:01.100 --> 00:18:03.040
  • You can't get from the old to the new except you go through
  • 00:18:03.050 --> 00:18:06.130
  • Jesus, amen, amen.
  • 00:18:06.140 --> 00:18:10.260
  • Somebody just say that name for me.
  • 00:18:10.270 --> 00:18:12.060
  • Jesus.
  • 00:18:12.070 --> 00:18:13.270
  • That's what our whole lives are about.
  • 00:18:13.280 --> 00:18:17.220
  • It's not about a whole bunch of principles
  • 00:18:17.230 --> 00:18:19.250
  • and thank God for principles.
  • 00:18:19.260 --> 00:18:21.050
  • Don't get me wrong.
  • 00:18:21.060 --> 00:18:22.150
  • It is about a man and his name is Jesus.
  • 00:18:22.160 --> 00:18:26.150
  • Hey, join me in making Jesus famous 'cause we have forgotten
  • 00:18:26.160 --> 00:18:32.190
  • about what this is all about.
  • 00:18:32.200 --> 00:18:36.090
  • We keep trying to make it about us.
  • 00:18:36.100 --> 00:18:40.010
  • It's about Jesus.
  • 00:18:40.020 --> 00:18:42.280
  • Now, if it was Sunday morning, I would have to preach that
  • 00:18:42.290 --> 00:18:45.210
  • thing like a Baptist church.
  • 00:18:45.220 --> 00:18:47.010
  • "Jesus, my sweet rose of Sharon, Jesus,
  • 00:18:47.020 --> 00:18:50.270
  • my lily of the valley, Jesus," I have to spell it for you.
  • 00:18:50.280 --> 00:18:56.160
  • "J-E-S-U-S."
  • 00:18:56.170 --> 00:18:58.160
  • I did it one time and forgot a "S."
  • 00:18:58.170 --> 00:19:03.260
  • All right, now, what about then New Testament prayers?
  • 00:19:03.270 --> 00:19:10.090
  • Now, I'm gonna make just a comment on this.
  • 00:19:10.100 --> 00:19:13.060
  • My intention in this series is not to show you all of the
  • 00:19:13.070 --> 00:19:17.010
  • promises of the New Testament but I wanna hit something
  • 00:19:17.020 --> 00:19:20.210
  • so very, very important.
  • 00:19:20.220 --> 00:19:23.010
  • In New Testament prayers, we are not praying to try to get God
  • 00:19:23.020 --> 00:19:29.100
  • to do something.
  • 00:19:29.110 --> 00:19:33.110
  • Let me give you a very general definition of a prayer that
  • 00:19:33.120 --> 00:19:36.050
  • my father, my spiritual father, and I,
  • 00:19:36.060 --> 00:19:38.140
  • years we--way back, talk about.
  • 00:19:38.150 --> 00:19:41.260
  • He said something that just struck my spirit.
  • 00:19:41.270 --> 00:19:44.020
  • He said, "Prayer is really saying to God what he's already
  • 00:19:44.030 --> 00:19:47.230
  • said through his Word."
  • 00:19:47.240 --> 00:19:50.160
  • And then over the years and as I began to understand the grace of
  • 00:19:50.170 --> 00:19:53.090
  • God, I wanna put this to it: Prayer is saying to God what
  • 00:19:53.100 --> 00:19:59.090
  • Jesus has already accomplished through this covenant of grace.
  • 00:19:59.100 --> 00:20:05.100
  • So here's the difference.
  • 00:20:05.110 --> 00:20:07.040
  • New Testament praying is all about praying what has already
  • 00:20:07.050 --> 00:20:16.000
  • been finished.
  • 00:20:16.010 --> 00:20:18.120
  • It's praying finished works.
  • 00:20:18.130 --> 00:20:22.000
  • It is not trying to get God to do something
  • 00:20:22.010 --> 00:20:25.180
  • that he's already done.
  • 00:20:25.190 --> 00:20:27.020
  • It is praying in line with the finished works of Jesus.
  • 00:20:27.030 --> 00:20:34.150
  • It's praying in line with the promises and the guarantees
  • 00:20:34.160 --> 00:20:40.260
  • of this new covenant.
  • 00:20:40.270 --> 00:20:42.270
  • So here's what it sounds like.
  • 00:20:42.280 --> 00:20:44.280
  • Let's say you're praying for healing.
  • 00:20:44.290 --> 00:20:46.180
  • Old covenant will say, you know: "Lord,
  • 00:20:46.190 --> 00:20:50.010
  • I'm gonna be good and I'm gonna do this and I'm gonna do that
  • 00:20:50.020 --> 00:20:52.130
  • and I'm gonna do that and if I do that,
  • 00:20:52.140 --> 00:20:53.290
  • Lord, please heal me."
  • 00:20:54.000 --> 00:20:56.090
  • New covenant says: "Father, you healed me 2000 years ago
  • 00:20:56.100 --> 00:21:00.100
  • and I give you praise that I am healed."
  • 00:21:00.110 --> 00:21:04.180
  • I don't know what these people be talking about who be praying
  • 00:21:04.190 --> 00:21:06.190
  • in English for, like, a long, long time,
  • 00:21:06.200 --> 00:21:08.280
  • using words over and over again and trying to use the
  • 00:21:08.290 --> 00:21:10.250
  • Elizabethan language and stuff like that.
  • 00:21:10.260 --> 00:21:13.050
  • It is real simple.
  • 00:21:13.060 --> 00:21:14.150
  • I was praying for somebody one time and it went by so quick
  • 00:21:14.160 --> 00:21:16.100
  • they opened their eye, like, "Is that it?"
  • 00:21:16.110 --> 00:21:18.020
  • I'm, like, "Yeah, that's it."
  • 00:21:18.030 --> 00:21:22.020
  • "In the name of Jesus, Father, I thank you that healing was made
  • 00:21:22.030 --> 00:21:25.100
  • ready 2000 years ago.
  • 00:21:25.110 --> 00:21:27.100
  • Now we appropriate and take hold of it in Jesus's name
  • 00:21:27.110 --> 00:21:30.060
  • and thank you for it."
  • 00:21:30.070 --> 00:21:32.110
  • Provision: "Father, I thank you that on that cross everything
  • 00:21:32.120 --> 00:21:35.170
  • we'll ever need pertaining to life and godliness,
  • 00:21:35.180 --> 00:21:38.280
  • we already have it and, Lord, I thank you that you are our
  • 00:21:38.290 --> 00:21:41.220
  • provider and we receive it now in Jesus's name."
  • 00:21:41.230 --> 00:21:46.080
  • The whole covenant is about belief in what
  • 00:21:46.090 --> 00:21:47.260
  • Jesus has already done.
  • 00:21:47.270 --> 00:21:49.170
  • "Father, I thank you in Jesus's name that I walk in the favor of
  • 00:21:49.180 --> 00:21:52.160
  • God and I believe I receive the job that you want me to have and
  • 00:21:52.170 --> 00:21:56.170
  • the one that'll cause me to be happy and I give you praise
  • 00:21:56.180 --> 00:21:59.280
  • for that right now."
  • 00:21:59.290 --> 00:22:01.130
  • Your prayer is wrapped in thanksgiving and praise
  • 00:22:01.140 --> 00:22:05.280
  • about what Jesus has already done.
  • 00:22:05.290 --> 00:22:09.030
  • We have been praying New Testament prayer.
  • 00:22:09.040 --> 00:22:11.060
  • If you find yourself begging God,
  • 00:22:11.070 --> 00:22:12.210
  • trying to get him to do something right now,
  • 00:22:12.220 --> 00:22:15.160
  • "O Lord, my kind, heavenly Father,
  • 00:22:15.170 --> 00:22:20.070
  • here we are once more again, a few of your humble servants
  • 00:22:20.080 --> 00:22:23.150
  • gathered here in your name."
  • 00:22:23.160 --> 00:22:25.190
  • It's like we're trying to grease his palm up or something.
  • 00:22:25.200 --> 00:22:29.030
  • And Lord, I ain't got a mother in that land.
  • 00:22:29.040 --> 00:22:33.220
  • Your mama's sitting right there by you and yet you--
  • 00:22:33.230 --> 00:22:37.290
  • Lord, I got a father in that land.
  • 00:22:38.000 --> 00:22:42.080
  • Just trying to grease him up.
  • 00:22:42.090 --> 00:22:44.000
  • But if you can stop by just a little while longer
  • 00:22:44.010 --> 00:22:50.250
  • then we know everything will be all right.
  • 00:22:50.260 --> 00:22:54.260
  • Lord, everything will be all right.
  • 00:22:54.270 --> 00:22:58.020
  • Stop by. Stop by.
  • 00:22:58.030 --> 00:22:59.180
  • Stop by. Stop by.
  • 00:22:59.190 --> 00:23:01.140
  • Stop by.
  • 00:23:01.150 --> 00:23:02.260
  • See, my question is, is Jesus a visitor or a permanent resident?
  • 00:23:02.270 --> 00:23:11.110
  • Okay, that's wrong.
  • 00:23:11.120 --> 00:23:16.110
  • It may look and feel good but it accomplishes nothing.
  • 00:23:16.120 --> 00:23:23.050
  • announcer: Did you know every failure in a Christian's life
  • 00:23:24.120 --> 00:23:26.290
  • is a prayer failure?
  • 00:23:27.000 --> 00:23:28.170
  • God desires for you to succeed in every area of your life.
  • 00:23:28.180 --> 00:23:32.060
  • One sure way to see success is by praying in the Spirit.
  • 00:23:32.070 --> 00:23:36.120
  • Creflo: Go ahead and release your faith.
  • 00:23:36.130 --> 00:23:39.020
  • Glory to God.
  • 00:23:39.030 --> 00:23:40.120
  • And you may find yourself bumping into all kinds
  • 00:23:40.130 --> 00:23:42.160
  • of answered prayers.

  • love of God by giving your life to Christ.

  • All that you need to do is simply believe in Jesus Christ.
  • 00:24:34.070 --> 00:24:39.120
  • The most important thing a person can do is to become born
  • 00:24:39.130 --> 00:24:41.220
  • again and only then will you be able to walk in the fullness of
  • 00:24:41.230 --> 00:24:45.200
  • God and all that God has planned for your life.
  • 00:24:45.210 --> 00:24:48.290
  • I want you to repeat this prayer after me if you've not made
  • 00:24:49.000 --> 00:24:52.140
  • Jesus the Lord of your life.
  • 00:24:52.150 --> 00:24:54.120
  • Say this after me: "Heavenly Father,
  • 00:24:54.130 --> 00:24:55.250
  • I believe that you have forgiven me of all of my sins.
  • 00:24:55.260 --> 00:25:01.150
  • I accept Jesus into my life as my Lord and personal Savior.
  • 00:25:01.160 --> 00:25:08.080
  • And right now by faith I declare that I am saved, amen."
  • 00:25:08.090 --> 00:25:16.270
  • Now, if you prayed that prayer with me,
  • 00:25:16.280 --> 00:25:18.210
