  • 00:00:01.010 --> 00:00:12.240
  • PASTOR ROBERT MORRIS: This message is entitled
  • 00:00:14.170 --> 00:00:16.010
  • "Wounded Warriors".
  • 00:00:16.040 --> 00:00:18.040
  • These two, the two last messages in the series, are huge answers.
  • 00:00:18.070 --> 00:00:23.170
  • In essence, we're going to talk about emotional healing
  • 00:00:23.200 --> 00:00:25.160
  • this week, and then the last message,
  • 00:00:25.190 --> 00:00:27.220
  • we'll talk about deliverance.
  • 00:00:27.250 --> 00:00:29.210
  • And, I'll actually pray over all of you a prayer
  • 00:00:29.240 --> 00:00:34.050
  • of deliverance during that last message, and I'm going
  • 00:00:34.080 --> 00:00:36.210
  • to pray over many of you today for emotional healing.
  • 00:00:36.240 --> 00:00:40.030
  • So, look at Luke 4, beginning in Verse 16.
  • 00:00:40.060 --> 00:00:44.030
  • It says, "So He came to Nazareth, where He had been
  • 00:00:44.060 --> 00:00:46.180
  • brought up.
  • 00:00:46.210 --> 00:00:47.220
  • And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue
  • 00:00:47.250 --> 00:00:50.000
  • on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.
  • 00:00:50.030 --> 00:00:53.050
  • And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah.
  • 00:00:53.080 --> 00:00:55.280
  • And when He had opened the book, He found the place",
  • 00:00:56.010 --> 00:00:59.090
  • I always find that funny to say "He found the place".
  • 00:00:59.120 --> 00:01:01.220
  • I wonder how long it took Jesus to find Isaiah.
  • 00:01:01.250 --> 00:01:10.040
  • Thinking to Himself, okay, Psalms, Proverbs, okay.
  • 00:01:10.070 --> 00:01:16.170
  • That's even funny to me! Alright.
  • 00:01:16.200 --> 00:01:17.280
  • "He found the place where it was written, "The Spirit
  • 00:01:18.010 --> 00:01:22.000
  • of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach
  • 00:01:22.030 --> 00:01:26.170
  • the gospel to the poor.
  • 00:01:26.200 --> 00:01:28.100
  • He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim
  • 00:01:28.130 --> 00:01:31.060
  • liberty to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind,
  • 00:01:31.090 --> 00:01:35.160
  • to set at liberty those who are oppressed,
  • 00:01:35.190 --> 00:01:38.290
  • to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."
  • 00:01:39.020 --> 00:01:42.110
  • And then He closed the book, and gave it back to the
  • 00:01:42.140 --> 00:01:44.130
  • attendant and sat down.
  • 00:01:44.160 --> 00:01:45.140
  • And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue
  • 00:01:45.170 --> 00:01:47.120
  • were fixed on Him."
  • 00:01:47.150 --> 00:01:49.050
  • They were fixed on Him because this is a Messianic prophecy,
  • 00:01:49.080 --> 00:01:51.190
  • and they all knew it, so they were wondering
  • 00:01:51.220 --> 00:01:53.130
  • what He's about to say.
  • 00:01:53.160 --> 00:01:54.200
  • And this is what He said to them.
  • 00:01:54.230 --> 00:01:56.080
  • "He began to say to them, "Today this Scripture
  • 00:01:56.110 --> 00:01:59.000
  • is fulfilled in your hearing".
  • 00:01:59.030 --> 00:02:00.200
  • Now, let me tell you what He was saying.
  • 00:02:00.230 --> 00:02:02.150
  • He was saying I'm Him.
  • 00:02:02.180 --> 00:02:05.010
  • I'm the Messiah.
  • 00:02:05.040 --> 00:02:06.010
  • Your Messiah is here.
  • 00:02:06.040 --> 00:02:07.170
  • Now, in this passage are the five foundational ministries
  • 00:02:07.200 --> 00:02:11.130
  • of Jesus, and we're only going to deal today
  • 00:02:11.160 --> 00:02:13.120
  • with emotional healing, but let me just show them to you
  • 00:02:13.150 --> 00:02:15.290
  • so you'll know.
  • 00:02:16.020 --> 00:02:17.040
  • These are five ministries, foundational ministries
  • 00:02:17.070 --> 00:02:20.020
  • of Jesus He wants to do for every person.
  • 00:02:20.050 --> 00:02:22.110
  • One is salvation, and the two phrases that relate
  • 00:02:22.140 --> 00:02:27.020
  • to salvation are "preach the gospel to the poor",
  • 00:02:27.050 --> 00:02:29.260
  • the gospel is good news, and "proclaim the acceptable year
  • 00:02:29.290 --> 00:02:32.260
  • of the Lord".
  • 00:02:32.290 --> 00:02:33.290
  • In other words, now is the time that you can accept
  • 00:02:34.020 --> 00:02:37.280
  • the Lord and that the Lord can accept you, because your sin
  • 00:02:38.010 --> 00:02:41.050
  • is going to be appeased.
  • 00:02:41.080 --> 00:02:43.140
  • The second basic ministry, or foundational ministry
  • 00:02:43.170 --> 00:02:45.160
  • of Jesus, is Spirit baptism.
  • 00:02:45.190 --> 00:02:47.150
  • He says, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me".
  • 00:02:47.180 --> 00:02:50.170
  • We know the Holy Spirit descended on Him when He was
  • 00:02:50.200 --> 00:02:52.280
  • water baptized, and He says "He has anointed me",
  • 00:02:53.010 --> 00:02:56.040
  • so every person needs to be anointed by the Holy Spirit.
  • 00:02:56.070 --> 00:03:00.200
  • The third basic ministry, or foundational ministry,
  • 00:03:00.230 --> 00:03:02.270
  • is healing.
  • 00:03:03.000 --> 00:03:03.290
  • "Recovery of sight to the blind" is the phrase
  • 00:03:04.020 --> 00:03:05.210
  • that refers to that.
  • 00:03:05.240 --> 00:03:07.070
  • The fourth is deliverance.
  • 00:03:07.100 --> 00:03:08.160
  • I know I'm going fast, but you may just have to write
  • 00:03:08.190 --> 00:03:10.200
  • down the five words and then figure out which phrase
  • 00:03:10.230 --> 00:03:13.270
  • it is later, or go back and listen to it.
  • 00:03:14.000 --> 00:03:16.050
  • Deliverance, this phrase is "proclaim liberty
  • 00:03:16.080 --> 00:03:19.090
  • to the captives", liberty to the captives.
  • 00:03:19.120 --> 00:03:22.090
  • And then, emotional healing has two phrases also that relate
  • 00:03:22.120 --> 00:03:25.020
  • to it, "heal the brokenhearted", and "set at liberty those who
  • 00:03:25.050 --> 00:03:30.060
  • are oppressed".
  • 00:03:30.090 --> 00:03:31.280
  • I came to heal the brokenhearted and set at
  • 00:03:32.010 --> 00:03:34.020
  • liberty those who are oppressed.
  • 00:03:34.050 --> 00:03:36.100
  • And the Old King James translates it bruised,
  • 00:03:36.130 --> 00:03:40.070
  • to set at liberty those who are bruised.
  • 00:03:40.100 --> 00:03:42.190
  • So, I want to talk to you today.
  • 00:03:42.220 --> 00:03:44.020
  • I only have two points, and then we're actually going
  • 00:03:44.050 --> 00:03:45.160
  • to minister some healing in this area, but I want to talk
  • 00:03:45.190 --> 00:03:48.210
  • to you about broken hearts and bruises.
  • 00:03:48.240 --> 00:03:50.250
  • So, here's point number one, broken hearts.
  • 00:03:50.280 --> 00:03:54.090
  • In the Greek, this broken heart is two words put together.
  • 00:03:54.120 --> 00:03:59.220
  • The first word is suntribo, and it means to break in pieces,
  • 00:03:59.250 --> 00:04:05.280
  • to shatter.
  • 00:04:06.010 --> 00:04:07.110
  • It's like throwing a jar down and it's shattering
  • 00:04:07.140 --> 00:04:10.070
  • in pieces so that it is unrecoverable.
  • 00:04:10.100 --> 00:04:13.180
  • That's what He's saying.
  • 00:04:13.210 --> 00:04:14.230
  • And then heart, this word in the Greek is kardia,
  • 00:04:14.260 --> 00:04:18.040
  • K-A-R-D-I-A, kardia, which is where we would get
  • 00:04:18.070 --> 00:04:21.210
  • our word, cardiac.
  • 00:04:21.240 --> 00:04:23.190
  • It means the heart.
  • 00:04:23.220 --> 00:04:24.250
  • So, He's saying broken in pieces, a heart that's been
  • 00:04:24.280 --> 00:04:28.000
  • broken, or a heart that's been shattered.
  • 00:04:28.030 --> 00:04:30.060
  • Now, I want to ask you a question.
  • 00:04:30.090 --> 00:04:31.270
  • Has your heart ever been broken?
  • 00:04:32.000 --> 00:04:34.100
  • Well, everyone.
  • 00:04:34.130 --> 00:04:35.180
  • Has your heart ever been shattered?
  • 00:04:35.210 --> 00:04:37.090
  • Okay, that's bad.
  • 00:04:37.120 --> 00:04:38.150
  • I understand that, but here's the good news.
  • 00:04:38.180 --> 00:04:40.130
  • There's someone that can heal that.
  • 00:04:40.160 --> 00:04:42.090
  • There's someone that can put every piece back together,
  • 00:04:42.120 --> 00:04:45.090
  • and you don't have to live with a broken heart.
  • 00:04:45.120 --> 00:04:48.240
  • That's good news.
  • 00:04:48.270 --> 00:04:50.170
  • Now, I'm going to deal with two strongholds that come in,
  • 00:04:50.200 --> 00:04:57.220
  • and many strongholds could come in through these things,
  • 00:04:57.250 --> 00:05:00.130
  • but I'm just going to take two, one that comes in with a broken
  • 00:05:00.160 --> 00:05:03.110
  • heart most of the time, a stronghold of the enemy,
  • 00:05:03.140 --> 00:05:06.040
  • and one that comes in with a bruise.
  • 00:05:06.070 --> 00:05:07.250
  • What happens many times when our heart is broken
  • 00:05:07.280 --> 00:05:10.150
  • is the stronghold of rejection takes place in us.
  • 00:05:10.180 --> 00:05:14.090
  • Our heart is broken over a relationship, or a friendship,
  • 00:05:14.120 --> 00:05:18.190
  • or the loss of someone close to us.
  • 00:05:18.220 --> 00:05:21.130
  • Our heart is broken, our heart is shattered over that,
  • 00:05:21.160 --> 00:05:24.130
  • and rejection comes in.
  • 00:05:24.160 --> 00:05:27.110
  • I want you to just notice when rejection comes in what
  • 00:05:27.140 --> 00:05:31.100
  • happens, but I want you to know that we are susceptible
  • 00:05:31.130 --> 00:05:35.040
  • to rejection as human beings.
  • 00:05:35.070 --> 00:05:37.060
  • And maybe you've never heard this before,
  • 00:05:37.090 --> 00:05:40.040
  • but this is a theological truth.
  • 00:05:40.070 --> 00:05:43.060
  • We are actually born rejected.
  • 00:05:43.090 --> 00:05:47.010
  • We're born rejected from God.
  • 00:05:47.040 --> 00:05:48.280
  • The reason is we're born with a sin nature, and God
  • 00:05:49.010 --> 00:05:52.180
  • cannot have, a holy God cannot have a relationship
  • 00:05:52.210 --> 00:05:55.000
  • with us unless the blood of Jesus covers our sins
  • 00:05:55.030 --> 00:05:57.250
  • and we receive that atonement.
  • 00:05:57.280 --> 00:06:00.080
  • So, we're born rejected, so we are very easily rejected
  • 00:06:00.110 --> 00:06:04.240
  • in this life.
  • 00:06:04.270 --> 00:06:06.010
  • Much of what happens to us as we're growing up fosters
  • 00:06:06.040 --> 00:06:09.200
  • this wound of rejection.
  • 00:06:09.230 --> 00:06:12.070
  • Let me show you a few Scriptures.
  • 00:06:12.100 --> 00:06:13.230
  • Numbers 14:34 says, "According to the number
  • 00:06:13.260 --> 00:06:16.080
  • of days in which you spied out the land, forty days, for each
  • 00:06:16.110 --> 00:06:20.120
  • day you shall bear your guilt one year, namely forty years,
  • 00:06:20.150 --> 00:06:25.050
  • and you shall know My rejection".
  • 00:06:25.080 --> 00:06:29.150
  • Now, He's talking to the children of Israel,
  • 00:06:29.180 --> 00:06:30.260
  • and here's what He says.
  • 00:06:30.290 --> 00:06:31.270
  • He says, you're going to know.
  • 00:06:32.000 --> 00:06:33.070
  • Because you rejected Me, you're going to know My rejection.
  • 00:06:33.100 --> 00:06:36.210
  • And then, notice what happens when this happens.
  • 00:06:36.240 --> 00:06:39.130
  • Hosea 8:3 says, "Israel has rejected the good,
  • 00:06:39.160 --> 00:06:43.160
  • the enemy will pursue him".
  • 00:06:43.190 --> 00:06:46.200
  • Now, we're talking about that the enemy gets strongholds.
  • 00:06:46.230 --> 00:06:48.280
  • He says, you've rejected Me, you've rejected My way.
  • 00:06:49.010 --> 00:06:53.080
  • So, because you've rejected My way, you've now opened
  • 00:06:53.110 --> 00:06:55.230
  • the door to the enemy.
  • 00:06:55.260 --> 00:06:57.240
  • That's what He's saying.
  • 00:06:57.270 --> 00:06:58.250
  • And I want to show you, under broken hearts,
  • 00:06:58.280 --> 00:07:01.220
  • seven strongholds that come from the root of rejection, alright?
  • 00:07:01.250 --> 00:07:07.020
  • And I want you to see these are emotional strongholds.
  • 00:07:07.050 --> 00:07:10.080
  • Some people would call them personality disorders,
  • 00:07:10.110 --> 00:07:12.170
  • and I understand that we have personalities, but there are
  • 00:07:12.200 --> 00:07:16.050
  • emotional strongholds that keep people in bondage,
  • 00:07:16.080 --> 00:07:21.070
  • and they all go stem back to the root of rejection.
  • 00:07:21.100 --> 00:07:24.100
  • So, let me show you these.
  • 00:07:24.130 --> 00:07:25.180
  • We won't be able to go into them very much, but I'll go into
  • 00:07:25.210 --> 00:07:27.210
  • them in just a little bit of detail, because there
  • 00:07:27.240 --> 00:07:30.020
  • are seven of them.
  • 00:07:30.050 --> 00:07:31.040
  • Here's number one, is anger.
  • 00:07:31.070 --> 00:07:33.100
  • People who have outbursts of anger actually have a spirit
  • 00:07:33.130 --> 00:07:37.210
  • of rejection.
  • 00:07:37.240 --> 00:07:39.230
  • They have rage in them.
  • 00:07:39.260 --> 00:07:42.220
  • They have anger, and many times they can't control that anger.
  • 00:07:42.250 --> 00:07:46.150
  • I had such a spirit of rejection that anytime I thought
  • 00:07:46.180 --> 00:07:49.220
  • Debbie was rejecting me, when we first got married,
  • 00:07:49.250 --> 00:07:53.150
  • I got very explosive, very angry.
  • 00:07:53.180 --> 00:07:56.230
  • I never hit her, but I'd hit things.
  • 00:07:56.260 --> 00:07:59.220
  • I would get angry.
  • 00:07:59.250 --> 00:08:01.160
  • I remember we lived in a mobile home when we first got married,
  • 00:08:01.190 --> 00:08:05.210
  • and everything was donated to us, furniture, everything,
  • 00:08:05.240 --> 00:08:08.180
  • you know.
  • 00:08:08.210 --> 00:08:09.240
  • And the refrigerator had been given to us by one of her
  • 00:08:09.270 --> 00:08:11.090
  • family members, and I got very angry one time in the kitchen
  • 00:08:11.120 --> 00:08:15.270
  • because she said something, and I just turned around and hit
  • 00:08:16.000 --> 00:08:18.130
  • the refrigerator and put a big dent in it.
  • 00:08:18.160 --> 00:08:21.280
  • And she went out, you know, and I'll never forget.
  • 00:08:22.010 --> 00:08:25.230
  • I feel so sorry for her now, but she went out and she bought
  • 00:08:25.260 --> 00:08:28.180
  • the largest magnetic sunflower.
  • 00:08:28.210 --> 00:08:33.000
  • Isn't that sad?
  • 00:08:33.030 --> 00:08:34.170
  • To put over this dent, you know, so her family wouldn't
  • 00:08:34.200 --> 00:08:37.210
  • see that, you know, so her family wouldn't see that
  • 00:08:37.240 --> 00:08:39.210
  • when they came over.
  • 00:08:39.240 --> 00:08:40.130
  • Okay, that's rage.
  • 00:08:40.160 --> 00:08:41.260
  • I felt like, and some of you can relate to this.
  • 00:08:41.290 --> 00:08:44.050
  • Some of you have had rage like this.
  • 00:08:44.080 --> 00:08:46.040
  • I felt like I had supernatural strength when I got angry.
  • 00:08:46.070 --> 00:08:50.260
  • I felt like -- and there was a television show
  • 00:08:50.290 --> 00:08:53.160
  • back in the 70s and 60s, 70s probably,
  • 00:08:53.190 --> 00:08:56.160
  • called The Incredible Hulk.
  • 00:08:56.190 --> 00:08:58.000
  • I said it last night and not many people related.
  • 00:08:58.030 --> 00:09:00.030
  • So, a few years ago there was a movie called
  • 00:09:00.060 --> 00:09:06.040
  • The Incredible Hulk, but if you remember, I think that
  • 00:09:06.070 --> 00:09:08.070
  • in the movie, yes, they did, but in the TV show,
  • 00:09:08.100 --> 00:09:11.040
  • this is what I remember.
  • 00:09:11.070 --> 00:09:12.090
  • You know, this David Banister was a scientist,
  • 00:09:12.120 --> 00:09:15.080
  • and his eyes would turn like this, and he would say,
  • 00:09:15.110 --> 00:09:17.120
  • "You don't want to see me when I'm angry", you know,
  • 00:09:17.150 --> 00:09:20.050
  • because he would turn into this supernatural
  • 00:09:20.080 --> 00:09:22.050
  • strength monster, okay?
  • 00:09:22.080 --> 00:09:23.130
  • That's the way I felt.
  • 00:09:23.160 --> 00:09:24.250
  • I got beat up many times as a youngster, and then I had
  • 00:09:24.280 --> 00:09:29.090
  • something happen in my life that put such a rage in me
  • 00:09:29.120 --> 00:09:35.040
  • that if I got in a fight, I would get so angry you
  • 00:09:35.070 --> 00:09:37.190
  • couldn't win, because it was just supernatural strength.
  • 00:09:37.220 --> 00:09:42.210
  • And so, it was a spirit.
  • 00:09:42.240 --> 00:09:44.030
  • I had a spirit of anger that entered me
  • 00:09:44.060 --> 00:09:47.290
  • because I had a spirit of rejection.
  • 00:09:48.020 --> 00:09:51.180
  • Let me just give you one example.
  • 00:09:51.210 --> 00:09:54.000
  • Saul disobeyed God, and 1 Samuel 15:26 says, "Samuel
  • 00:09:54.030 --> 00:09:59.050
  • said to Saul, "I will not return with you, for you
  • 00:09:59.080 --> 00:10:02.000
  • have rejected the Word of the Lord, and the Lord
  • 00:10:02.030 --> 00:10:05.050
  • has rejected you from being king of Israel".
  • 00:10:05.080 --> 00:10:07.280
  • And then if you remember what happened right after
  • 00:10:08.010 --> 00:10:09.070
  • that, it says, well, I've got to read it to you.
  • 00:10:09.100 --> 00:10:11.140
  • It's too good.
  • 00:10:11.170 --> 00:10:12.190
  • 1 Samuel 19:9 says, "Now the distressing spirit
  • 00:10:12.220 --> 00:10:16.060
  • from the Lord", the distressing spirit, I do want you
  • 00:10:16.090 --> 00:10:19.090
  • to notice, from the Lord.
  • 00:10:19.120 --> 00:10:22.000
  • This word, distressing, by the way, is in the Old Testament
  • 00:10:22.030 --> 00:10:24.150
  • 663 times, 442 times it's translated evil.
  • 00:10:24.180 --> 00:10:29.140
  • The Authorized Version translates it evil,
  • 00:10:29.170 --> 00:10:31.230
  • an evil spirit from the Lord.
  • 00:10:31.260 --> 00:10:33.230
  • I'm going to tell you why later it was from the Lord.
  • 00:10:33.260 --> 00:10:36.210
  • "Came upon Saul as he sat in his house with his spear
  • 00:10:36.240 --> 00:10:39.020
  • in his hand.
  • 00:10:39.050 --> 00:10:40.000
  • David was playing music with his hand.
  • 00:10:40.030 --> 00:10:41.170
  • And then Saul sought to pin David to the wall
  • 00:10:41.200 --> 00:10:43.220
  • with the spear, but he slipped away from Saul's presence,
  • 00:10:43.250 --> 00:10:46.180
  • and he drove the spear into the wall, and David fled
  • 00:10:46.210 --> 00:10:48.150
  • and escaped that night."
  • 00:10:48.180 --> 00:10:49.200
  • Okay, when Saul was rejected, now, he rejected
  • 00:10:49.230 --> 00:10:54.050
  • God first, but when he was rejected, he opened the door
  • 00:10:54.080 --> 00:10:57.100
  • for an evil spirit to come on him, and when that evil
  • 00:10:57.130 --> 00:10:59.200
  • spirit would come on him, he would have uncontrollable
  • 00:10:59.230 --> 00:11:02.110
  • anger and rage, so much so he tried to murder someone.
  • 00:11:02.140 --> 00:11:06.210
  • So, people that have anger like this, I'm telling you
  • 00:11:06.240 --> 00:11:12.170
  • that it could be a spirit.
  • 00:11:12.200 --> 00:11:14.130
  • So, here's the second stronghold, insecurity.
  • 00:11:14.160 --> 00:11:18.230
  • People who constantly need attention, people who are
  • 00:11:18.260 --> 00:11:23.000
  • concerned about where they sit in a meeting, you ought
  • 00:11:23.030 --> 00:11:26.150
  • to watch them in boardrooms.
  • 00:11:26.180 --> 00:11:27.180
  • They come in and they try to pick their chair out.
  • 00:11:27.210 --> 00:11:29.290
  • They just don't come in and grab a chair.
  • 00:11:30.020 --> 00:11:31.060
  • They want to make sure they're noticed.
  • 00:11:31.090 --> 00:11:33.140
  • They need to be recognized.
  • 00:11:33.170 --> 00:11:35.290
  • If I'm leading the meeting and I complement two or three
  • 00:11:36.020 --> 00:11:39.010
  • people, a person with a spirit of insecurity,
  • 00:11:39.040 --> 00:11:41.270
  • I'm not talking about a personality,
  • 00:11:42.000 --> 00:11:43.010
  • I'm talking about a spirit.
  • 00:11:43.040 --> 00:11:44.160
  • A person with a spirit of insecurity will come up
  • 00:11:44.190 --> 00:11:46.240
  • afterwards and say, well, why didn't you
  • 00:11:46.270 --> 00:11:48.080
  • say something about me?
  • 00:11:48.110 --> 00:11:49.280
  • It's a spirit.
  • 00:11:50.010 --> 00:11:50.260
  • You need to get free from that.
  • 00:11:50.290 --> 00:11:53.090
  • And I'm thinking there's staff people here thinking,
  • 00:11:53.120 --> 00:11:56.050
  • is that me, Pastor Robert? Okay.
  • 00:11:56.080 --> 00:12:00.080
  • Number three is pride, people who portray
  • 00:12:00.110 --> 00:12:03.080
  • themselves as having it all together.
  • 00:12:03.110 --> 00:12:05.020
  • Let me tell you something you'll notice about prideful
  • 00:12:05.050 --> 00:12:06.190
  • people, they talk a lot.
  • 00:12:06.220 --> 00:12:09.070
  • They have to give their opinion on everything.
  • 00:12:09.100 --> 00:12:11.240
  • If you're leading a small group, they want to answer
  • 00:12:11.270 --> 00:12:13.080
  • every discussion question.
  • 00:12:13.110 --> 00:12:14.210
  • You know, what's amazing is it's fun to preach,
  • 00:12:14.240 --> 00:12:17.050
  • because you can see me, but I can see you.
  • 00:12:17.080 --> 00:12:20.260
  • So, it's fun to watch a spouse do this.
  • 00:12:20.290 --> 00:12:27.140
  • She's thinking, you're getting this?
  • 00:12:27.170 --> 00:12:31.200
  • Then in a minute I'll say something else,
  • 00:12:31.230 --> 00:12:32.290
  • and he does this.
  • 00:12:33.020 --> 00:12:34.020
  • Are you getting this?
  • 00:12:34.050 --> 00:12:34.290
  • You know, I mean, okay, so.
  • 00:12:35.020 --> 00:12:36.290
  • Number four is independence, a person who,
  • 00:12:37.020 --> 00:12:39.290
  • I can make it on my own, I don't need anyone.
  • 00:12:40.020 --> 00:12:41.240
  • It's very difficult to develop relationships
  • 00:12:41.270 --> 00:12:43.220
  • with them, meaningful relationships.
  • 00:12:43.250 --> 00:12:45.150
  • They won't listen to counsel.
  • 00:12:45.180 --> 00:12:47.130
  • They're going to do what they want to do, no matter what.
  • 00:12:47.160 --> 00:12:50.050
  • This could be from a spirit of rejection, so that they
  • 00:12:50.080 --> 00:12:52.280
  • develop this stronghold of independence.
  • 00:12:53.010 --> 00:12:55.160
  • Number five, those easily offended.
  • 00:12:55.190 --> 00:12:58.040
  • These are people who take comments very personally.
  • 00:12:58.070 --> 00:13:01.030
  • You can't joke with them.
  • 00:13:01.060 --> 00:13:02.050
  • You have to be very careful.
  • 00:13:02.080 --> 00:13:03.070
  • Sometimes you're joking, and all of the sudden
  • 00:13:03.100 --> 00:13:04.100
  • you go over the line.
  • 00:13:04.130 --> 00:13:05.280
  • See, we'll talk a minute about a bruise.
  • 00:13:06.010 --> 00:13:08.140
  • You know, a bruise is inward bleeding, and it will discolor
  • 00:13:08.170 --> 00:13:12.060
  • on the inside and it will discolor your skin,
  • 00:13:12.090 --> 00:13:14.220
  • but then it can go away.
  • 00:13:14.250 --> 00:13:16.060
  • Well, what I understand about bruises, those capillaries
  • 00:13:16.090 --> 00:13:18.130
  • are still wounded and you can bump it again,
  • 00:13:18.160 --> 00:13:21.120
  • and it will discolor again and start bleeding again,
  • 00:13:21.150 --> 00:13:23.240
  • even though it stopped bleeding, but once it gets bumped again,
  • 00:13:23.270 --> 00:13:26.060
  • it'll start bleeding again.
  • 00:13:26.090 --> 00:13:27.180
  • Okay, that's exactly the way it is.
  • 00:13:27.210 --> 00:13:29.050
  • Someone has said something in the past that has wounded you,
  • 00:13:29.080 --> 00:13:33.100
  • and so you're at a meeting and someone bumps
  • 00:13:33.130 --> 00:13:35.280
  • that bruise, and it starts bleeding again.
  • 00:13:36.010 --> 00:13:38.260
  • But, here's the good news.
  • 00:13:38.290 --> 00:13:40.070
  • Jesus can heal that.
  • 00:13:40.100 --> 00:13:42.030
  • He can heal those things.
  • 00:13:42.060 --> 00:13:44.050
  • These are people you feel like you have to walk
  • 00:13:44.080 --> 00:13:45.260
  • on eggshells when you're around them.
  • 00:13:45.290 --> 00:13:47.100
  • You have to always be careful what you say because
  • 00:13:47.130 --> 00:13:48.170
  • they're easily offended.
  • 00:13:48.200 --> 00:13:50.100
  • Number six, excessive shyness or loneliness.
  • 00:13:50.130 --> 00:13:55.050
  • Now again, I'm not talking about a personality here.
  • 00:13:55.080 --> 00:13:58.070
  • I'm talking about excessive shyness or loneliness,
  • 00:13:58.100 --> 00:14:01.040
  • a fear of people.
  • 00:14:01.070 --> 00:14:02.060
  • Jimmy talked about that some last week.
  • 00:14:02.090 --> 00:14:04.290
  • Number seven is control and manipulation, and I want to talk
  • 00:14:05.020 --> 00:14:08.040
  • about this for a moment, because every person that I've ever
  • 00:14:08.070 --> 00:14:11.240
  • met that has a difficulty with control and manipulation,
  • 00:14:11.270 --> 00:14:15.100
  • let me just take it a little further.
  • 00:14:15.130 --> 00:14:16.270
  • Not just a difficulty, but a stronghold,
  • 00:14:17.000 --> 00:14:19.080
  • a bondage in this area, has the spirit of rejection.
  • 00:14:19.110 --> 00:14:23.160
  • See, when you have a spirit of rejection,
  • 00:14:23.190 --> 00:14:25.270
  • you're very susceptible to being a manipulator,
  • 00:14:26.000 --> 00:14:28.150
  • because you have to control people around you and control
  • 00:14:28.180 --> 00:14:31.020
  • their responses so they don't reject you.
  • 00:14:31.050 --> 00:14:33.180
  • And what it really boils down to is you're so hurt,
  • 00:14:33.210 --> 00:14:37.100
  • because you've been rejected in the past, that you want
  • 00:14:37.130 --> 00:14:39.200
  • to control them so they don't reject you in the future.
  • 00:14:39.230 --> 00:14:42.130
  • People who have a spirit of control and manipulation
  • 00:14:42.160 --> 00:14:44.260
  • interrupt a lot.
  • 00:14:44.290 --> 00:14:46.170
  • They will interrupt you in a conversation
  • 00:14:46.200 --> 00:14:48.120
  • because it triggers something inside of them.
  • 00:14:48.150 --> 00:14:50.160
  • They don't even know it's triggering, but something starts
  • 00:14:50.190 --> 00:14:52.220
  • to remind them in their subconscious,
  • 00:14:52.250 --> 00:14:54.210
  • not even in the conscious mind, of a wound in the past,
  • 00:14:54.240 --> 00:14:57.140
  • so they've got to somehow interrupt you and stop you
  • 00:14:57.170 --> 00:14:59.180
  • from talking, especially when you're confronting them.
  • 00:14:59.210 --> 00:15:02.030
  • If you're confronting them about something,
  • 00:15:02.060 --> 00:15:03.190
  • instead of listening to you, they keep trying to interrupt
  • 00:15:03.220 --> 00:15:05.220
  • you and stop you.
  • 00:15:05.250 --> 00:15:07.020
  • They also will try to turn it back toward you.
  • 00:15:07.050 --> 00:15:10.040
  • You know, you do the same thing.
  • 00:15:10.070 --> 00:15:12.000
  • You know, you have this problem too.
  • 00:15:12.030 --> 00:15:13.190
  • They're trying to, just let me turn the spotlight
  • 00:15:13.220 --> 00:15:15.210
  • off of myself.
  • 00:15:15.240 --> 00:15:16.170
  • That's what they're doing.
  • 00:15:16.200 --> 00:15:17.250
  • And I'll tell you another way people manipulate, crying.
  • 00:15:17.280 --> 00:15:20.180
  • Let me just start crying.
  • 00:15:20.210 --> 00:15:22.060
  • I'm telling you the truth!
  • 00:15:22.090 --> 00:15:23.210
  • Listen to me.
  • 00:15:23.240 --> 00:15:24.260
  • It's amazing how many smiles we're getting today.
  • 00:15:24.290 --> 00:15:27.210
  • It's because you start confronting, they start crying,
  • 00:15:27.240 --> 00:15:30.130
  • and basically what they say is you're hurting me.
  • 00:15:30.160 --> 00:15:32.090
  • You're hurting me!
  • 00:15:32.120 --> 00:15:33.080
  • Stop, stop hurting me, stop hurting me!
  • 00:15:33.110 --> 00:15:35.040
  • And they're crying to get you to stop because it's not just
  • 00:15:35.070 --> 00:15:38.210
  • what you're saying, it's what everybody else has said
  • 00:15:38.240 --> 00:15:41.210
  • that has never been healed. See?
  • 00:15:41.240 --> 00:15:44.100
  • And it's manipulation, and I can tell you why,
  • 00:15:44.130 --> 00:15:46.210
  • because they can stop.
  • 00:15:46.240 --> 00:15:49.030
  • Think about this.
  • 00:15:49.060 --> 00:15:50.130
  • Have you ever had a child, just throwing a fit, just crying,
  • 00:15:50.160 --> 00:15:53.250
  • wailing, throwing a fit, and you say, you want some candy,
  • 00:15:53.280 --> 00:15:56.050
  • and they stop just like that?
  • 00:15:56.080 --> 00:15:58.040
  • Okay, here's the second.
  • 00:15:58.070 --> 00:15:59.160
  • We've talked about broken hearts, let's talk
  • 00:15:59.190 --> 00:16:01.010
  • about bruises.
  • 00:16:01.040 --> 00:16:03.030
  • Bruises, and I could have put the words Jesus heals
  • 00:16:03.060 --> 00:16:06.190
  • in front of both of these points.
  • 00:16:06.220 --> 00:16:08.220
  • Jesus heals broken hearts.
  • 00:16:08.250 --> 00:16:10.100
  • So, if you want to put that, you can.
  • 00:16:10.130 --> 00:16:11.140
  • Jesus heals broken hearts, and Jesus heals bruises.
  • 00:16:11.170 --> 00:16:15.210
  • Remember it says, "to set at liberty those who
  • 00:16:15.240 --> 00:16:17.090
  • are oppressed", and the Old King James says, "to set
  • 00:16:17.120 --> 00:16:19.040
  • at liberty those that are bruised", and a bruise is inward
  • 00:16:19.070 --> 00:16:22.120
  • bleeding, but here's what I really want you to notice.
  • 00:16:22.150 --> 00:16:24.080
  • It says, "to set at liberty", to set free people
  • 00:16:24.110 --> 00:16:30.060
  • who've been bruised.
  • 00:16:30.090 --> 00:16:31.070
  • Okay, let me just show you what that means.
  • 00:16:31.100 --> 00:16:33.000
  • That means that a bruise can hold you in bondage.
  • 00:16:33.030 --> 00:16:36.100
  • See?
  • 00:16:36.130 --> 00:16:37.170
  • If Jesus said I came to set people free that have been
  • 00:16:37.200 --> 00:16:41.030
  • oppressed, and bruised, and crushed, then that means
  • 00:16:41.060 --> 00:16:44.080
  • that a bruise can hold you in bondage.
  • 00:16:44.110 --> 00:16:46.060
  • This word means crushed.
  • 00:16:46.090 --> 00:16:48.000
  • Well, I asked you a moment ago, has your heart
  • 00:16:48.030 --> 00:16:49.170
  • ever been broken?
  • 00:16:49.200 --> 00:16:50.120
  • Sure it has.
  • 00:16:50.150 --> 00:16:51.050
  • Let me ask you this question.
  • 00:16:51.080 --> 00:16:52.070
  • Have you ever been crushed?
  • 00:16:52.100 --> 00:16:53.220
  • Has something ever happened that it just crushed you?
  • 00:16:53.250 --> 00:16:55.260
  • The loss of a marriage, the loss of a relationship,
  • 00:16:55.290 --> 00:17:00.070
  • the loss of a family member.
  • 00:17:00.100 --> 00:17:01.280
  • Now, I'm not trying to be insensitive when I say these
  • 00:17:02.010 --> 00:17:03.140
  • things, because I know they're real.
  • 00:17:03.170 --> 00:17:05.180
  • But, it crushes you.
  • 00:17:05.210 --> 00:17:07.170
  • Well, what happens is the enemy comes in, and here is one
  • 00:17:07.200 --> 00:17:10.080
  • of the strongholds that happens when that happens,
  • 00:17:10.110 --> 00:17:13.220
  • is unforgiveness comes in.
  • 00:17:13.250 --> 00:17:16.030
  • And now, in Matthew 18, I don't have time to read
  • 00:17:16.060 --> 00:17:19.160
  • the whole story, but Jesus said, "How often should my brother
  • 00:17:19.190 --> 00:17:23.020
  • sin against me and I forgive him"?
  • 00:17:23.050 --> 00:17:25.140
  • And Peter said this to Jesus, and Jesus said, you know,
  • 00:17:25.170 --> 00:17:29.000
  • seventy times seven, and then He tells this story,
  • 00:17:29.030 --> 00:17:31.160
  • and He says a certain man owed, and what he owed
  • 00:17:31.190 --> 00:17:34.260
  • in today's currency would be about $52 million.
  • 00:17:34.290 --> 00:17:38.070
  • And he went to his master, and his master forgave him.
  • 00:17:38.100 --> 00:17:41.010
  • Okay, that represents salvation.
  • 00:17:41.040 --> 00:17:42.180
  • So, Jesus is talking to us about a believer, a saved person.
  • 00:17:42.210 --> 00:17:46.120
  • And He says, but the same person went out and found
  • 00:17:46.150 --> 00:17:48.050
  • someone who owed him $44 in today's currency, $44, and he
  • 00:17:48.080 --> 00:17:53.050
  • threw him into prison until he should pay what was due.
  • 00:17:53.080 --> 00:17:56.000
  • And then He says, what do you think the master is
  • 00:17:56.030 --> 00:17:57.260
  • going to do about this?
  • 00:17:57.290 --> 00:17:59.130
  • And I'm going to pick it up then in Verse 32.
  • 00:17:59.160 --> 00:18:01.030
  • It says, "Then his master, after he had called him,
  • 00:18:01.060 --> 00:18:03.280
  • said to him, "You're a wicked servant!
  • 00:18:04.010 --> 00:18:06.030
  • I forgave you all of that debt because you begged me.
  • 00:18:06.060 --> 00:18:09.060
  • Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow
  • 00:18:09.090 --> 00:18:11.290
  • servant, just as I had pity on you?
  • 00:18:12.020 --> 00:18:14.070
  • And his master was angry", now watch this phrase
  • 00:18:14.100 --> 00:18:16.260
  • carefully, "and delivered him", or turned him over.
  • 00:18:16.290 --> 00:18:21.000
  • "Delivered him to the torturers."
  • 00:18:21.030 --> 00:18:23.210
  • I wonder what the torturers would represent.
  • 00:18:23.240 --> 00:18:26.040
  • One version says tormenters.
  • 00:18:26.070 --> 00:18:28.070
  • "Until he should pay all that was due to him."
  • 00:18:28.100 --> 00:18:30.240
  • Now, I want you to notice very carefully, Jesus tells
  • 00:18:30.270 --> 00:18:33.140
  • the story, but then He says something that we really need
  • 00:18:33.170 --> 00:18:36.020
  • to notice, Verse 35.
  • 00:18:36.050 --> 00:18:38.010
  • "So", so, "My heavenly Father also will do to you
  • 00:18:38.040 --> 00:18:49.290
  • if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother",
  • 00:18:50.020 --> 00:18:55.290
  • he's talking to believers, "his trespasses."
  • 00:18:56.020 --> 00:18:59.160
  • So, what will the heavenly Father do if you don't forgive?
  • 00:18:59.190 --> 00:19:02.210
  • He's going to turn you over to torturers.
  • 00:19:02.240 --> 00:19:04.140
  • Now, I want you to remember that an evil spirit
  • 00:19:04.170 --> 00:19:09.200
  • from the Lord came on Saul.
  • 00:19:09.230 --> 00:19:12.220
  • I want you to remember, Jesus said, My heavenly Father
  • 00:19:12.250 --> 00:19:15.240
  • will turn you over to the tormenters,
  • 00:19:15.270 --> 00:19:17.110
  • the torturers, if you don't forgive.
  • 00:19:17.140 --> 00:19:20.250
  • 1 Corinthians 5, there was a man living in sin.
  • 00:19:20.280 --> 00:19:23.050
  • Paul said, turn him over to Satan.
  • 00:19:23.080 --> 00:19:26.050
  • "Turn him over to Satan for the destruction
  • 00:19:26.080 --> 00:19:27.140
  • of the flesh that his spirit may be saved.
  • 00:19:27.170 --> 00:19:29.040
  • Deliver such a one to Satan."
  • 00:19:29.070 --> 00:19:31.180
  • Okay, why?
  • 00:19:31.210 --> 00:19:32.140
  • Why would God ever do this?
  • 00:19:32.170 --> 00:19:33.130
  • Listen to me very carefully.
  • 00:19:33.160 --> 00:19:34.160
  • Think again about the Old Testament.
  • 00:19:34.190 --> 00:19:36.110
  • When Israel would reject God, God would turn
  • 00:19:36.140 --> 00:19:40.190
  • them over to the enemy. Why?
  • 00:19:40.220 --> 00:19:43.220
  • So they'd repent, and so they'd come back to God.
  • 00:19:43.250 --> 00:19:47.180
  • So they would know what bondage is like, and they would
  • 00:19:47.210 --> 00:19:50.210
  • not stay in that bondage, because if you stay
  • 00:19:50.240 --> 00:19:52.130
  • in that bondage, you die.
  • 00:19:52.160 --> 00:19:54.100
  • So, if you're going to not forgive someone, He's going
  • 00:19:54.130 --> 00:19:58.020
  • to allow you to be tormented so you will forgive, because
  • 00:19:58.050 --> 00:20:02.040
  • otherwise you're going to live a miserable life.
  • 00:20:02.070 --> 00:20:04.180
  • He wants you to say, I don't want to live this way.
  • 00:20:04.210 --> 00:20:07.090
  • I want to come back to God.
  • 00:20:07.120 --> 00:20:08.160
  • The reason I'm saying this is, you need to understand.
  • 00:20:08.190 --> 00:20:10.280
  • You can't be delivered until you repent.
  • 00:20:11.010 --> 00:20:14.150
  • God is the judge.
  • 00:20:14.180 --> 00:20:16.270
  • James 4:7 says, "Therefore submit to God, resist the devil
  • 00:20:17.000 --> 00:20:20.250
  • and he will flee from you."
  • 00:20:20.280 --> 00:20:22.000
  • Please hear me.
  • 00:20:22.030 --> 00:20:23.040
  • You can't resist the devil until you submit to God.
  • 00:20:23.070 --> 00:20:26.110
  • And by the way, there's another Scripture on forgiveness
  • 00:20:26.140 --> 00:20:28.140
  • to show how Satan takes advantage of us.
  • 00:20:28.170 --> 00:20:31.060
  • 2 Corinthians 2, by the way, 1 Corinthians 5,
  • 00:20:31.090 --> 00:20:34.010
  • Paul said, turn him over to Satan.
  • 00:20:34.040 --> 00:20:35.170
  • But, this guy they turned over to Satan repented.
  • 00:20:35.200 --> 00:20:38.130
  • So, in 2 Corinthians, Paul says forgive him now.
  • 00:20:38.160 --> 00:20:41.180
  • Forgive him, receive him back into the family.
  • 00:20:41.210 --> 00:20:44.010
  • And this is what he says, 2 Corinthians 2:10-11.
  • 00:20:44.040 --> 00:20:46.090
  • "Now whom you forgive anything, I also forgive.
  • 00:20:46.120 --> 00:20:49.220
  • If indeed I have forgiven anything, I have forgiven
  • 00:20:49.250 --> 00:20:52.080
  • that one for your sakes in the presence of Christ."
  • 00:20:52.110 --> 00:20:54.130
  • Now watch why Paul says we forgive.
  • 00:20:54.160 --> 00:20:56.070
  • "Lest Satan should take advantage of us,
  • 00:20:56.100 --> 00:21:00.060
  • for we are not ignorant of his devices."
  • 00:21:00.090 --> 00:21:02.200
  • Okay, now let me tell you how Satan takes advantage of us,
  • 00:21:02.230 --> 00:21:05.230
  • and explain to you how a wound opens this up to a spirit
  • 00:21:05.260 --> 00:21:10.040
  • coming in, a spirit of anger, or a spirit of unforgiveness,
  • 00:21:10.070 --> 00:21:13.020
  • or a spirit of fear, or a spirit of rejection,
  • 00:21:13.050 --> 00:21:15.040
  • or a spirit of bitterness.
  • 00:21:15.070 --> 00:21:17.270
  • 2 Corinthians 11:14 says, "Satan himself transforms
  • 00:21:18.000 --> 00:21:22.250
  • himself into an angel of the light".
  • 00:21:22.280 --> 00:21:24.220
  • Transforms himself.
  • 00:21:24.250 --> 00:21:26.110
  • Now, this word, transforms, the root in the Greek,
  • 00:21:26.140 --> 00:21:29.210
  • and some versions will even translate this word
  • 00:21:29.240 --> 00:21:31.170
  • this way, masquerades.
  • 00:21:31.200 --> 00:21:33.240
  • It's like going to a masquerade party, and you've got one
  • 00:21:33.270 --> 00:21:37.140
  • of those faces that you hold on a stick up in front of your face
  • 00:21:37.170 --> 00:21:40.170
  • so people can't see who you really are.
  • 00:21:40.200 --> 00:21:43.060
  • So, this is what Satan does.
  • 00:21:43.090 --> 00:21:44.240
  • He pretends to be a good angel, but he's not a good angel.
  • 00:21:44.270 --> 00:21:48.000
  • Now, I want you to think about this.
  • 00:21:48.030 --> 00:21:50.050
  • The Holy Spirit is a comforter.
  • 00:21:50.080 --> 00:21:53.110
  • Satan is the tormenter.
  • 00:21:53.140 --> 00:21:55.050
  • Okay?
  • 00:21:55.080 --> 00:21:56.140
  • But what he does, when you get hurt, is he holds a mask up
  • 00:21:56.170 --> 00:21:59.180
  • and he pretends to be a comforter.
  • 00:21:59.210 --> 00:22:02.120
  • When I was young, about 13 years old, some boys surrounded me in
  • 00:22:02.150 --> 00:22:07.090
  • a barn, and they were, you know, we're going to beat you up.
  • 00:22:07.120 --> 00:22:11.270
  • And there were like, four or five bigger boys, older boys,
  • 00:22:12.000 --> 00:22:14.230
  • and I thought they were, and I got so scared, I started crying,
  • 00:22:14.260 --> 00:22:18.250
  • and then they started mocking me and making fun of me,
  • 00:22:18.280 --> 00:22:21.120
  • and you're not even worth beating up, you know,
  • 00:22:21.150 --> 00:22:22.220
  • you're just such a little girl, a little sissy and all,
  • 00:22:22.250 --> 00:22:25.190
  • and they left.
  • 00:22:25.220 --> 00:22:27.060
  • Well, boy, I'm telling you, Satan came in that barn
  • 00:22:27.090 --> 00:22:28.250
  • and he started comforting me.
  • 00:22:28.280 --> 00:22:31.140
  • And it's never going to happen again.
  • 00:22:31.170 --> 00:22:32.180
  • You're never going to let this happen again.
  • 00:22:32.210 --> 00:22:34.120
  • And rage came in me, and the next time I got in a fight,
  • 00:22:34.150 --> 00:22:39.100
  • I hurt the guy seriously, because rage came,
  • 00:22:39.130 --> 00:22:42.280
  • a spirit of rage, and that was in me again after I got married,
  • 00:22:43.010 --> 00:22:46.130
  • until I got -- and I had to go back in time and allow,
  • 00:22:46.160 --> 00:22:50.210
  • submit that memory to the Holy Spirit, and allow
  • 00:22:50.240 --> 00:22:53.110
  • the Holy Spirit to heal that memory.
  • 00:22:53.140 --> 00:22:55.080
  • I remember also, I made a vow that I'd never cry again.
  • 00:22:55.110 --> 00:22:59.040
  • I didn't cry for 23 years, 23 years, in that time
  • 00:22:59.070 --> 00:23:03.100
  • I never shed a tear, and let me tell you how that happened.
  • 00:23:03.130 --> 00:23:06.000
  • After I got healed, the guy that took me through emotional
  • 00:23:06.030 --> 00:23:08.070
  • healing, I was telling him how I never cried again.
  • 00:23:08.100 --> 00:23:10.070
  • He said, well, the Lord will lead you.
  • 00:23:10.100 --> 00:23:11.250
  • He'll lead you and there will be a time when you'll cry.
  • 00:23:11.280 --> 00:23:15.030
  • And a few years after that, I couldn't sleep one night,
  • 00:23:15.060 --> 00:23:17.250
  • and I had just gotten a new Reader's Digest, and so I got up
  • 00:23:17.280 --> 00:23:20.200
  • to read the funny parts, Humor in Uniform, Campus Comedy,
  • 00:23:20.230 --> 00:23:25.110
  • you know, Laughter is the Best Medicine.
  • 00:23:25.140 --> 00:23:26.240
  • So, that was all I was going to read, and then the little
  • 00:23:26.270 --> 00:23:28.200
  • things at the end of stories that are funny, you know?
  • 00:23:28.230 --> 00:23:30.270
  • And so, I was just flipping through.
  • 00:23:31.000 --> 00:23:32.240
  • Well, I was reading one of the, let's say Laughter is
  • 00:23:32.270 --> 00:23:34.130
  • the Best Medicine.
  • 00:23:34.160 --> 00:23:35.180
  • When I flipped over to read the second part of it,
  • 00:23:35.210 --> 00:23:37.110
  • on this page, just like that, I saw a headstone at a cemetery,
  • 00:23:37.140 --> 00:23:43.060
  • a little girl standing there releasing a balloon,
  • 00:23:43.090 --> 00:23:46.260
  • and the title was "When Daddy Doesn't Come Home".
  • 00:23:46.290 --> 00:23:51.250
  • And I thought, I'm not reading that!
  • 00:23:51.280 --> 00:23:55.060
  • And my daughter, Elaine, was about three years old
  • 00:23:55.090 --> 00:23:56.230
  • at the time.
  • 00:23:56.260 --> 00:23:57.280
  • I thought, I'm not reading that, and the Holy Spirit
  • 00:23:58.010 --> 00:23:59.140
  • said to me, yes, you are.
  • 00:23:59.170 --> 00:24:02.050
  • I said, no, I'm not.
  • 00:24:02.080 --> 00:24:03.280
  • I'm not reading that, Lord, because that'll hurt.
  • 00:24:04.010 --> 00:24:05.290
  • I don't want to hurt.
  • 00:24:06.020 --> 00:24:06.240
  • I'm not reading that.
  • 00:24:06.270 --> 00:24:08.010
  • He said, yes, you are.
  • 00:24:08.040 --> 00:24:09.050
  • He said, you're going to read it, and you're going
  • 00:24:09.080 --> 00:24:10.120
  • to cry, and you're going to like it.
  • 00:24:10.150 --> 00:24:16.100
  • I said, I don't want to cry, and I don't want to like it.
  • 00:24:16.130 --> 00:24:19.110
  • He said, you're going to read that.
  • 00:24:19.140 --> 00:24:20.120
  • You're going to read every word of it.
  • 00:24:20.150 --> 00:24:21.270
  • It took me about two hours, and sometimes
  • 00:24:22.000 --> 00:24:24.120
  • I'd just read one word.
  • 00:24:24.150 --> 00:24:26.180
  • And I cried, and I cried, and I cried.
  • 00:24:26.210 --> 00:24:31.110
  • And the Lord healed something in me that happened
  • 00:24:31.140 --> 00:24:33.040
  • when I was 13 years old.
  • 00:24:33.070 --> 00:24:36.240
  • Now I'm telling you, God wants to heal you from past
  • 00:24:36.270 --> 00:24:39.270
  • hurts and past wounds.
  • 00:24:40.000 --> 00:24:41.050
  • PASTOR ROBERT: Isn't it wonderful that Jesus said
  • 00:24:41.220 --> 00:24:43.200
  • He came to heal the brokenhearted?
  • 00:24:43.230 --> 00:24:46.220
  • I want you to know that if you've been hurt by someone,
  • 00:24:46.250 --> 00:24:49.240
  • that person may never, ever ask your forgiveness.
  • 00:24:49.270 --> 00:24:53.150
  • He may never get on his knees and ask for your
  • 00:24:53.180 --> 00:24:55.190
  • forgiveness, but let me tell you who will, Jesus.
  • 00:24:55.220 --> 00:24:59.000
  • Jesus got on His knees and washed the disciples' feet.
  • 00:24:59.030 --> 00:25:04.010
  • He came to heal the brokenhearted.
  • 00:25:04.040 --> 00:25:06.170
  • Those places where your heart has been shattered,
  • 00:25:06.200 --> 00:25:09.200
  • He wants to heal.
  • 00:25:09.230 --> 00:25:11.020
  • Take a moment right now and submit those memories,
  • 00:25:11.050 --> 00:25:14.220
  • those horrible memories, to the Lord, and ask Him
  • 00:25:14.250 --> 00:25:17.000
  • to heal your broken heart.
  • 00:25:17.030 --> 00:25:19.220
  • I'm going to continue this series next week,
  • 00:25:19.250 --> 00:25:21.200
  • and next week is the most important message.
  • 00:25:21.230 --> 00:25:24.180
  • I'm going to tell you how you can be set free.
  • 00:25:24.210 --> 00:25:28.010
  • I'll see you next week.
  • 00:25:28.040 --> 00:25:30.070
  • ANNOUNCER: We're so glad you joined us for today's program
  • 00:25:30.100 --> 00:25:32.110

  • "Free Indeed" series.
  • 00:25:35.090 --> 00:25:37.150
  • Did you know that as believers it's possible to be
  • 00:25:37.180 --> 00:25:39.140
  • demonically oppressed?
  • 00:25:39.170 --> 00:25:41.090
  • Even though we've received salvation
  • 00:25:41.120 --> 00:25:43.030
  • and complete restoration through Jesus,
  • 00:25:43.060 --> 00:25:45.110
  • it's possible for the enemy to have a stronghold in areas
  • 00:25:45.140 --> 00:25:47.280
  • that we leave open to him.
  • 00:25:48.010 --> 00:25:49.230
  • But the good news is that God wants you to be free
  • 00:25:49.260 --> 00:25:52.010
  • from guilt, anger, depression, and shame.
  • 00:25:52.040 --> 00:25:55.000
  • In the "Free Indeed" series, Pastor Robert helps you
  • 00:25:55.030 --> 00:25:57.150

  • to freedom and restoration in every area of your life.
  • 00:26:00.270 --> 00:26:04.140
  • He also shares about the different kinds of doors
  • 00:26:04.170 --> 00:26:06.170
  • that we leave open to the enemy.
  • 00:26:06.200 --> 00:26:08.140
  • How we can close them, and what it means to be truly free.
  • 00:26:08.170 --> 00:26:12.020
  • We want you to have these important teachings
  • 00:26:12.050 --> 00:26:13.240
  • so that you can fully live in the victory that Jesus
  • 00:26:13.270 --> 00:26:16.040
  • purchased and intended for you.
  • 00:26:16.070 --> 00:26:18.230
  • That's why for your gift of any amount, we'd like to send you

  • 00:27:09.100 --> 00:27:11.290

  • Imagine what could happen if you took the first step.
  • 00:27:26.100 --> 00:27:28.210
